  2. Hey Hack, there are some great deals to be had on new Evinrudes since this is the last year BRP is making outboards. BRP has to honor all warranties and they are required to continue producing replacement parts. It may be a bit more than a good used motor but you can buy new and get it at pretty darn good price.

  3. Finally, a worthy fishing report. As a gift for my birthday, The family paid to fly me out to the prairies for a 10 day fishing trip. What a fantastic time with my family. Then there was the fishing. Never hit the water for more than 4-5 hours each day, yet we were catching 50-120 fish per session. The tactics were simple. Baitholders with leeches, and our worm harnesses tipped with worm, leech or minnow. Minnow and ball jigs , with a sickle hook or casting jigs tipped with twisters or paddle tales. The fish were insane. Walleye out there were fighters, not dead weight. Pike were a lot thicker across the back as compared to pike in southern Ontario. Did not manage any trophy pike, but we landed a lot of solid ones in the 30-36" range. Managed to land a lot of 25-28" walleye

  4. Haven't had the boat out as of yet, but my son and I have been hitting local rivers and inlets around Innisfil on Simcoe. Today he caught a 7-8 pound Bowfin. He caught it all by himself, I'm surprised the line didn't snap! Got a good picture of it flipping out of our hands. He managed to catch some sunfish, rockbass, bass, perch, Bowfin, and 2 gobies today which we killed.

  5. WARNING: Lots of fish porn in this post! The weather was beautiful for the FMZ20 bass opener! Great to see with the weather that we've been having that a lot of the Smallies have done there thing already. Obviously there are still some bedding fish, but I do believe that most of them are done. They must still be in a bit in a bit of a post spawn funk as we were unable to catch anything of note on a horizontal presentation, one day the drop shot was the deal and the next day it was the Ned rig. We probably caught over 100 fish on Sat. and 60 on Sun. but the fish on Sun were definitely a better average size with probably 25 in the 5-6 lbs. range. Definitely one of the best Smallmouth Bass fisheries in the world.
