Port Robinson

Is anyone here familiar with Port Robinson?  Is there any decent fishing or place to launch a small boat or canoe?

I have tentavly planned a business trip there this summer.  I hope to get a bit of fishing in.

A buddy lived in Port years ago, we could always get some decent smallies from shore where the unused canal narrows for this train bridge, caution !! strong currents exist while a boat is passing in the new canal but that is when the fish are most active, could be dangerous in a canoe, fish right around the bridge pilings . Lots of different species in the Welland River, even Walleye

Thanks, are there any places that are good to launch a small craft?  I may bring a 10' inflatable with a 2.5hp.  Or, is shore fishing the best option?

I'd shorefish at the train bridge, don't even think gas outboards arre legal in the old canal anymore. The Welland River is OK for power craft
