Happy New year everyone!
OK, new ice season but no ice....what does one do.....of course pulls the boat out and get some tasty whities ;-)
Exactly what I and the kids did today...started at 8am on Simcoe....4 hrs later came home with 2 nice whities. Let a big fat laker go - not my cup of tea.
Lost two more whities on the way up.
All on Meegs. Pictures below.
At times it was difficult to keep proper vertical jigging presentation as wind picked up and even thoug the anchor was holding well boat kept rotating around it therefore "vertical" was at times more like 60-75 degrees angle.
Anyhow....got it going on the right foot. Lets see when we can get some ice....or boat is ready for replay.

Brian,

wasn't too bad actually....and all was melting on the way back. Also others did it ahead of me. We all had shovels, but I didn't sense much desire to use them first thing in the morning :dunno:

Cheers,

Ice Fisherman
