icefisherman Posted January 1, 2017 Report Posted January 1, 2017 (edited) Happy New year everyone!OK, new ice season but no ice....what does one do.....of course pulls the boat out and get some tasty whities ;-)Exactly what I and the kids did today...started at 8am on Simcoe....4 hrs later came home with 2 nice whities. Let a big fat laker go - not my cup of tea.Lost two more whities on the way up.All on Meegs. Pictures below. At times it was difficult to keep proper vertical jigging presentation as wind picked up and even thoug the anchor was holding well boat kept rotating around it therefore "vertical" was at times more like 60-75 degrees angle.Anyhow....got it going on the right foot. Lets see when we can get some ice....or boat is ready for replay.Cheers,Ice Fisherman Edited January 1, 2017 by icefisherman
Gnote Posted January 1, 2017 Report Posted January 1, 2017 Nice fish man! Would be nice to get out soon.
misfish Posted January 1, 2017 Report Posted January 1, 2017 You just backed right in over that snow drift eh? LOL Thought I seen James truck at the launch. Nice one dude.
icefisherman Posted January 1, 2017 Author Report Posted January 1, 2017 Brian, wasn't too bad actually....and all was melting on the way back. Also others did it ahead of me. We all had shovels, but I didn't sense much desire to use them first thing in the morning Cheers, Ice Fisherman
Meegs Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 I brought shovels... but we said screw it. Might be back in the am
Crazy Ivan Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 Awesome that you guys are boating in January! I guess you dont winterize your boat? Run it all year if possible?
