bigcreekdad Posted December 28, 2016 Report Posted December 28, 2016 Have decided to buy a hand held that can display lake maps. My reasoning is that I often fish some small lakes with a drift boat with an electric motor, as well as my larger boat. Any suggestions on a unit, and on map sources as well? Thanks
Fisherman Posted December 29, 2016 Report Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) Take a look here, lots of choices. https://radioworld.ca/handheld/z-gps-han-han Edited December 29, 2016 by Fisherman
limeyangler Posted December 29, 2016 Report Posted December 29, 2016 I am assuming you are in Ontario, and that the small lakes you need to see are just the outline of the lakes, if this is the case you could hardly do better than the combo below. https://radioworld.ca/gar-gpsmap64 http://www.backroadmapbooks.com/gps-maps/ontario-gps-maps/ontario-backroad-gps-maps-v5
bigcreekdad Posted December 29, 2016 Author Report Posted December 29, 2016 Actually, my small lake fishing is done in northern Michigan. Have a cabin there and use the drifter on the Au Sable River, but there are a ton of small lakes within a 50 mile radius of me. And I'm looking for contour maps. Thanks
spincast Posted December 29, 2016 Report Posted December 29, 2016 this one has a nice feature - you can upload pretty well any map to it - lots of on ine sources for topo maps if you are willing to use google for a bit http://gpstracklog.com/2010/06/garmin-gpsmap-78s-review.html
