Shloim Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 Ok, so I registered my boat with the gov. and got back a "Pleasure Craft License" that clear say "This is not a title" How do I get a title/ownership for my boat? I have an ownership for my trailer?
BillM Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 You didn't get the ownership transferred to you when you bought it?
bigbuck Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 Your bill of sale is the title. Your regustration papers are for the liscence # on the bow. Keep both in a waterproof container along with your insurance slip if you have insured your boat.
John Bacon Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 Most people would just use the bill of sale for proof of ownership. You do get a title of you actually register your boat. However, very few people register their boats; most just license them.
