Twocoda Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 nice shooting Joey...birds are definitely the most fun method to hone ones photography skills...
Joey Posted May 20, 2014 Author Report Posted May 20, 2014 Thanks. Those warblers can be tricky though. They sure flit about.
Christopheraaron Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 Yellow bellied fly catcher shot is great, nice work Joey!
dave524 Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 Nice Joey, methinks the Yellow bellied Flycatcher may be a Great Crested, had a bunch of warblers as always picking at the clouds of midges on my weeping willow tree blooms in the backyard, they have pretty much moved on now.
Joey Posted May 21, 2014 Author Report Posted May 21, 2014 Yup, I think you're right Dave. I'm still learning Thanks!
Rodbender Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Nice Joey the Warbler's are thinning out on their way to the breeding grounds. I seen amazing pic of a Eastern King bird in flight on Flickr I'm striving for a similar shot, also a Kingfisher in flight and and and! This hobby I started in October 2012 birding in March 2013 is soooooo much fun. Last Year I didn't even know what a quarter of these birds are
Joey Posted May 22, 2014 Author Report Posted May 22, 2014 I agree, I've learned so much. I like the challenge of finding new birds and of course in flight pics. Once I find new birds and get some good pics of them, I want to move on and find others I have not photographed yet, or at least birds i have not photographed well yet The Kingfisher is still my nemesis. I found another pond with one at it, and I was so close to getting a really good shot, and an in flight shot too, but I just go there and barely had the lens cap off when I heard the chatter, saw it land not 20 feet from me. I raised the camera and didn't even focus yet and he was off and flying. I got a shot of the empty branch, then two fuzzy flying shots close to me - Dang. I will keep trying though.
