Mine talks. When the battery is low,it will beep intermintly. It,s so annoying,you will change the battery fast.

Oh ya,batteries are not cheap,but life is worth more.

That is all I use in the condos I maintain. You can't go wrong with Kidd brand. Hard wire with 9 volt battery backup.

thanks, picked up two today, they were $45 at CT. Now to find the energy / motivation / ladder / and or time to put them up. lol.
