stasbrute Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 Couldn't get away for opener, so we decided to hit water close to home. picked up several smallish bass at various areas , a perch and a sheephead
solopaddler Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 Cool report. I've lived in and around Hamilton my entire life and have never once fished the harbour. I'll have to throw a canoe in there and give it a shot.
dave524 Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 nicely done those are pretty respectable largemouth
Christopheraaron Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 "smallish"? Those are some nice fish!
cwpres Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 Wow, nice job! Got to get my kayak out there!
Christopheraaron Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 I just saw it, but has Brian seen this yet? If he has expect him to be at the harbor tomorrow with a net, boiling water and turtle bait.
Joeytier Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 Man, there is some nasty slimy slop in that harbour. Good job on making the most of it
Snidley Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 Sheepieville. Bass are not the main target in Hamilton Harbour
smally21 Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 ive never caught sheep in the harbour. hundreds of bass though.
Snidley Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 The Bass are 2-3lb. The Sheepies are 10-13lbs. Big difference. They really pull and you actually sacrifice some gear to get them.
Christopheraaron Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 ive never caught sheep in the harbour. hundreds of bass though. ya 200 bass in the whole harbour.
solopaddler Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 If I launch my canoe in there will the gel coat melt off? Just wondering.
Aaron Shirley Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 Cool report. Can't beat trips so close to home
redpearl99 Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 are there any particular good spots for shore fishing the harbour? I've never gone and would love to take my girlfriend (she just caught her first fish yesterday)
