two firsts in one week

I wrote a post on the weekend about getting my first gar now today i got my first bowfin it was about 18 inches and fought pretty hard nice surprise catch.

I caught a massive bowfin last weekend the thing was at least 10 pounds... My fishing partner asked if I wanted it netted... I woulda cut my line if it didn't have my a 12 dollar lure hanging out of it mouth. In hindsite i really should have taken a pictutre of it... It was kinda cool looking in a scary way.

Great job, i have caught a small gar, but never a bowfin.

I've only caught small gars....but my biggest bowfin is around the 5lb mark....absolutely love catching them...great fighters. Congrats on what's turning out to be a wild week for ya.
