covering trailer tires

My boat trailer spends a lot of time out doors during the summer with my boat on it, parked in my driveway. I'd like to make sure my trailer tires last as long as possible (installed a new pair of radial tires last year) but I can't figure out an economical way to keep them covered and outta the sun. I'd love to park it in the garage but it won't fit. Any ideas from some of you industrious, frugal thinkers out there would be helpful.

Cut a pice of plywood to cover them cut a small notch in it wrap a bungee cord around it and hook it into the notches

smart thought. learned that the hard way. tires cracked and failed on my first boat.

 

I know you you can buy tires covers from the RV people

Tire covers or use a tire shine that has UV stabilizers a quick spritz when you get home and you are golden.

The RV stores must sell tire covers as I have seen quite a few on campers.

Princess Auto carries tire covers. $20 to $30 for a pair depending on your tire size. Work great.
