Grackle Nest

The grackles decided to make a nest in my small pine tree out front. I took a look and there is only one egg, but I thought it was kinda neat. I didn't want to disturb them too much so just took a quick pic.

We had those in out hedge all of the time, they would keep us up at night, die in out swimming pool, and divebomb us! Annoying little things but nice shot there!

im not sure if its true or not (better half told me) but ....grackles lay their eggs in other birds nests (Robins Etc) and the host parents end up starving their own young trying to feed the grackle babies continuously...she refers to them as freeloaders around our feeders...when they move in the cardinals and blue jays take off instantly....

That'd be the Cowbird Dave. Looks similar but brown head instead of blue /purple. Cool shot Joey
