i was thinking about getting a portable ice kit for my 597ci hd di and was wondering if anybody bought one of these kits?

what does it come with?

from what i can tell you need the kit... as well as a power cord and a ice-ducer...

on amazon you can get all this for 160 bucks... then my 597 will be a year round set up...

im talking about the KIT here... not just a soft pack...

from what i can tell the kit comes with a soft pack...battery...charrger...and mount for head unit..

also... right now i have a vexilar fl-8 ultra pack...

is it worth selling my vexilar to make the switch...

im thinking about doing this so i can have sonar and gps on the ice as well as more features on my humminbird unit compared to my vex...

thanks for any help everyone

The portable ice pack doesn't come with a transducer.. Only the pack itself, the battery and the charger.

Transducer you'll need depending on your unit.

The pack you'll need.

I have both of these and ran my 747c last year out on Simcoe, this year I'll be running the same pack/transducer with my 788ci.

i have the same unit mounted it on a small cooler and battery goes inside , from winter to summer you just change the the transducer so easy and compact

the size of the cooler is will hold 6 cans of pop i think with flip lid

batteries dont freeze in winter and arnt exposed to sun in summer

great set up i actually have two batteries in cooler that will last a whole week on my flyin trip
