peter23 Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 hey guys ice fishing is coming up soon and me and my family are planning on doing a lot of ice fishing for lakers this year. we always go up to a lodge for walleye for a couple days but now we want to find one that is good for ice fishing lake trout. they dont have to be big, we are just looking to get some decent numbers. it has to be a drive to place and a drive about 7 hours away from toronto. are there any lodges you guys have stayed in the past that have met what i am looking for? thanks!
Musky or Specks Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Anyplace on Temagami Its my favourite icefishing destination for lakers.
simonl Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Sunny Hill resort in Barry's Bay. Usually good for numbers early in the ice season where they put their shacks. As the water in Bark lake is drawn down considerably by hydro' later in Feb and into March, the fish seem to move off though.

OutdoorDan Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Speaking of Temagami, when does it usually freeze up? And yes I'm aware that lakers aren't open until Feb 15th.
