  1. You mentioned that your old set up ran a circ pump....any chance that your new pack is still programmed to look for a circ pump configuration? If it is the call for heat would disable the heater with a flo error as the flow switch senses no pressure or flow....if the pack is configured to recognize your new set up, the call for heat would first power up the large pump, creating pressure or flow, then turn on the heater, Spa packs are fairly generic(balboa and Gecko etc..) but they all need to be configured, either thru dipswitch settings or program keys on the topside controller, to reflect the installed hardware. ie 1pump or 2 pump, single speed or 2 speed pumps etc. If it is configured properly and you are in fact experiencing a simple air lock, the key is finding where it is locked. In your set up as in the pictured I would suspect either in the pump or because of the numerous 90 deg elbows rather than sweeping turns with flexpipe, right in the heater tube. In any event, with the pump running. crack the outlet union until just water is spraying out. If not solved, with the pump running, crack the outlet union on the heater tube looking for the same. Some air locks can be persistant and require several tries or burps before just all of a sudden taking off. Also shut power off between tries to erase the FLO error.
  2. If your speedometer isn't working that's a dead give away that the driveshaft bearings are done and ready to grenade themselves. Once the bearings start to fail, the driveshaft does not turn true and snaps the sacrificial drive pin that drives the speedo cable. I would bet the clunking you are hearing is the driveshaft flopping around under load. It is hard to feel play in it by moving it with your hands because track tension holds it in a fairly firm position at rest.

  4. Constance lake right in Dacre has an awesome bass population with a chance of catching the odd walleye. There is a decent boat ramp at the campground but you can also put a good sized boat in off the road in Balacava.
  5. Bull...Service Ontario is at fault. Police accept the temporary proof of insurance in lieu of the normal pink liability slip so why wouldn't a desk jockey public servant?

When driving the road from Jolly Harbour through Old Road and the rainforest to get to English Harbour, I remember thinking that there wasn't enough insurance available for purchase on this island to put my mind at ease! lol Driving in St Johns was a real treat as well. ha ha. If there is time before you travel you can apply for a credit card that specifically meets your insurance needs, there are many that offer travel insurances of all sorts. My wife researched which one was best for us and we keep it for car rentals only when we travel. I was skeptical about the coverage but after requesting and receiving the policy breakdown I was satisfied that there was nothing to worry about and now we just decline any insurance offered by the rental company. When in Antigua we rented from a local guy that was recommended by the owner of the home we rented. We were pleased with him, he delivered the car to the house and we just left it there when we departed for him to pick up later. That avoided all of the confusion and hassle at the airport when all you really want to do is get out of there. It was called Benji's car rentals. There are a few good opportunities in the valley, but I may be a little biased...lol. quite close to Morning mist is Driftwood PP. less amenities but very private, pull thru sites and a good boat ramp. IMO fishing, the Ottawa R anywhere above the dam in Rolphton is great. Pine Ridge Park in Pembroke area has all the services you talked about with a decent restaurant as well. Town of Pembroke close by for any other needs. Another venue that I have enjoyed in the past is Sunny Hill Resort on Bark Lake near Barry's Bay. Mostly a seasonal CG but They accept transients as well. Hot tub,pool etc and fishing is decent for lakers, walleye, pike and SM. Lake is quite large and very scnenic with very few cottages.
  8. Cookslav, I am very interested in how you are running these. I have the same issues at my camp with mice and this year seems particularly bad! I have a solar/battery system that I power the camp with through an inverter when I am there. Do your sonic devices work on DC or do you have to leave an inverter on during your absence to run them? The only ones I have seen plug into an AC receptacle. I have always wondered about them. Glad to hear you are having success.

  11. Awesome sled!...If money was no object, it is what I would upgrade to. Are you looking at the 570 fan or the Z1 4 stroke? The 4 stroke might be a little heavy but it definitely has the power to compensate for it. The military used them in Petawawa last year and an old army buddy of mine let me drive one last year....beautiful machine. There is a winch kit to mount on the front from Arctic Cat that I would consider if I had the Z1, because if that thing ever gets stuck it would be REALLY stuck.
  12. We had a bear get into the screened porch at our camp one year to get into the bbq. Of course the bbq has since been removed and zero scraps are left behind, but every year we know we have to replace screens because he kept on coming back regardless. This year I had enough, and enclosed the porch and put solid windows in figuring this will stop the unwanted entries......was just in a couple weeks ago to check on things and find that the bugger has now resorted to pulling the exterior siding boards off in an attempt to get in! Once they get a taste of something they are pretty persistant! I saw a neat idea at a camp in Quebec that I may try, and you might want to as well....these hunters put bear boards down under every windo and door. All they were was a peice of plywood with a bunch of nails and screws driven thru then laid down with the pointy ends up.....the bear won't put their weight on it and therefore can't get near the window or door to gain access.

A new set of plugs should sort it out...When an oil injected motor is run out of gas, all the motor gets is 2 stroke oil for the combustion process, and lots of it, if it is cranked over for a while before realising that the gas tank is empty. This fouls the plugs easily. I feel the oil around the lower unit is just the excess 2 stroke oil drooling out of your well lubricated motor.

The comercial yellow annual sticker is required on vehicles with a gvwr of 4600kgs or greater(10000lbs) and you are right that RV's are exempt...however....this is a very stupid, not well thought out, regulation. I drive a f-350 dually with a gvwr close to 6000kgs, no doubt about it, it requires an annual inspection, but once my rv is hooked up I add 14000lbs to the equation but am considered an rv, therefore exempt! duh. I have friends who have been charged in their dually for not having a yellow sticker on their veh while disconnected from their rv. They thought because they are sometimes connected to an rv they are exempt all the time...not the case. To the OP, pin wieght on 5ers is generally close to 20% of the total trlr weight and not usually what the manufacturer says it is. On 9000lbs I would wager that your pin weight would be closer to 1800lbs....don't know of any half ton p/u that can carry that within the gvwr. If you want to try it or not is completely up to you, but I can guarantee you one thing from experience....buying to much trailer for your truck because the salesman or someone on the internet told you that you would be fine completely takes any of the fun out of rv'ing because of the white knuckle, hair raising trip to and from the campground. Your gvwr is stamped on your drivers door...go weigh your truck at a scale with passengers and a full tank of fuel...subtract your actual weight from the gvwr and that is how much tongue/pin weight you can carry....you may be able to PULL 7000lbs according to the manufacturer, but that doesn't mean you can CARRY that much.
