pikeguy Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 I'm having problems withe my sonar, Its a humminbird 565 dual beam. When i'm trolling it jumps around in the depth it will go from 28 fow to .8 and stay there sometimes if i reach down and put my hand under the traducer and it comes back. Other times it wont and it stays at .8 fow even if i'm in deep water. I followed the instructions on were to place the transducer Any help on this or if someone else had this problem or still does.
mercman Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 I was having that problem on my 587ci so i reset to factory specs, and the problem seemed to disappear. It may be because i played around too much with the settings, and it put it out of wack.
irishfield Posted June 24, 2011 Report Posted June 24, 2011 Generally an air bubble under the transducer does that G. Try lowering it a tad... or clicking it down a notch on the angle adjust.
pikeguy Posted June 24, 2011 Author Report Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) i have tried that Wane tried down and tried up and still did nothing for me. I' m hopping to get a few ideas to try this weekend. hopping the weather is on my side that is Edited June 24, 2011 by pikeguy
adempsey Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Does it happen all the time or only when you are going a decent speed??
NANUK Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Sounds like a faulty transducer, can you check your head unit on a buddy's boat with the same setup?
Raf Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Its a humminbird there's your problem if it has a setting for reducing surface clutter, try that.
Whitespinnerbait Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Minor adjustment is all thats needed... The result..
