coreyhkh Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Hey everyone I need help I am going home on the long weekend for 5 days to vit my Dad and do some fishing, we just got a new boat I would like to target pike. I grew up in Gravenhurst but I only ever fished bass and I don't really know any spots for pike any help would be appreciated. Also does anyone no a site that gives the water temp for lake Muskoka.
bigbuck Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Any shallow weedy bay in that lake should produce. Look at a chart of the lake and go for it.
lookinforwalleye Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 If your around the week after the long weekend there is a Pike tournament on Lake Muskoka, just follow the pro`s around. I am sure they wouldn`t mind a guy and his pops following them around!!!
camillj Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) Always saw some MONSTERS each spring in the bay near the resort just south of Glen Orchard ... I think it was called Enricos for a while .. anyhow .. you can actually fish it right off shore from Hwy 169 about half way down to Bala ... fish near the culverts into the swamp...not big numbers .. but some big snakes for sure ! Rizzo Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 I've gone up there a few times. We've never even bothered to leave Gravenhurst Bay because we were in a pretty small boat and were catching some decent fish right there. Not the giants you may get elsewhere, but we caught pike up to 35 inches just fishing weedy drop-offs and flats
coreyhkh Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 35" I am happy with that. thanks for the info.
Rizzo Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 ...up to 35 inches...most we got were your typical hammerhandles, but every once in a while got a decent one
