Afraz Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Yeah i doubt catfish were biting, they just inhale any bait they find SLURP. You're lucky to get a lip hookset, usually they will gut hook themselves if they could.

Guest gbfisher Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I'm not so sure it's only the Catfish that are biting.... Seems rather slow with the questions all of a sudden.
fisher12 Posted November 8, 2010 Author Report Posted November 8, 2010 I'm pretty sure it was catfish because some people beside me were only catching catfish and using the same bait as me , worms.

fisher12 Posted November 8, 2010 Author Report Posted November 8, 2010 Contributing to the delinquincy of minor eh Doug? I think you meant to reply to douG not me. right?
fisher12 Posted November 9, 2010 Author Report Posted November 9, 2010 Did you pay attention to how they were rigged? (it's a good learning opportunity) If they were catching fish beside you, and you weren't having any luck, what were they doing differently than you? Were they using floats, or just a bunch of weight and a hook loaded with worms? Catfish are bottom dwellers, so if you were using worms under a float it's unlikely you were getting catfish, unless you had enough line out under your float so that the bait was on bottom. Maybe your hook was too big? people beside me were using the same rig as i changed mine after I saw their's.
