hunterjoe84 Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 Hello All, I just recently purchased my first boat but it is in desperate need of some refinishing. It is an older 16 ft aluminum with a 9.2 viking. The motor runs great. It has been painted twice in the past, but both layers are falling off and it looks terrible. How do I go about preparing the surface for paint, and what kind of paint, primer should I use? Thanks
Terry Posted July 26, 2010 Report Posted July 26, 2010 if it's a metal cowling you can use paint stripper to remover the old paint
hunterjoe84 Posted July 27, 2010 Author Report Posted July 27, 2010 anyone else have any info on paint types that will withstand the water and a few bumps?
