bigugli Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 In the words of Noel Coward, " only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the mid day sun". And I'm not English Hit some high afternoon bassin after physio today, seeing as the lake was just around the corner. Was it ever hot out there, but the fish were biting and hitting senkos hard. A few samples. Even the perch wanted senkos. Hook went straight through his head. Dead instantly. After 2 1/2 hours I had enough. Back home to the A/C and cold beer.

splashhopper Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 i hit a little trib in London this afternoon... fished out of the sun under a bridge,,,, used my light action rod and a very small jig and grubbie... LOT's of rock bass and one 1/2 smallie.... even under the bridge was toooo hot.... but the fishies wouldn;t let me leave
Guest Johnny Bass Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Sounds like two hours well spent. When fishing a shallow body of water, fish turn on in this heat. If the water is deep they head for the depths.
