pike slayer Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) So last night my buddy chris went smelt fishing from 12-6am and got half a bucket and i picked him up at 7am and he didnt even get any sleep. i drove 2hours to his camp and he slept the whole way. the road into his camp is getting burtal, i got my truck buried at a new wash out, when in doubt gas it out haha. with a whole lot of flooring in reverse i got out and took a better run at it. we then got to his camp, did a few renos and measured up a bunch of stuff and wrote a list. going to be putting new counters and changing doors and what not. after we bombed around in his pond in the canoe for specks but came up with nothing. then we headed down the road to my favorite pike lake in hopes of big spawning pike. it was windy cold and well to early for spawning pike. they need more time yet and are verrrryyyy slow. i managed to get only 3 pike and brought home a 2.5lb pike.the forest in the area is pretty neat, there was a forest fire back in the 40s and now its all soft wood all birch, popular and pines, pretty neat.today i took lots of pics nature. the one picture is of ranger lake, the only lake i seen with ice still on it around here. there was a few spots of snow in the bush and the bush was extremely dry!! ive seen it wetter in the heat of the summer, its not looking good. anyways we had a fun day and just glad to get out. better luck next time. <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=twinlakes.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/twinlakes.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=seabrooksnow.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/seabrooksnow.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=seabrookshoreline-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/seabrookshoreline-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=seabrookforest.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/seabrookforest.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=scopspond.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/scopspond.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=scopscampdakota.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/scopscampdakota.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=rangerlakeice.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/rangerlakeice.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=lilseabrookpike.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/lilseabrookpike.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/?action=view¤t=fishinseabrook.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u137/gavinpee/fishinseabrook.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> Edited April 5, 2010 by worm dangler

WeedLine Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Right on. At least you got into some fish. Nice looking lake
pike slayer Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 it says on the inside of the canoe that its a scotts... and its fiberglass, its been through hell and back, lots of portage bush miles on it. and ya in 2 weeks they should be hitting alot better, they just arent ready to spawn yet, they are on the normal time schedule and this lake is normally amazing in the summer with 50+ pike in one day and decent sizes to. nice time will be better i was a little to horny to get out
