TJQ Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Saw this floating around today... dunno if the info is true.. but the picture is awesome none the less!! This behemoth was caught with a rod and a reel. It is definitely the largest lake trout caught in Canada. Weighing in at 84 lbs this this lake trout is 20 lbs over the previous Canadian record for lake trout according to this fishing record site. It was caught near the community of Déli;ne, located in the Sahtu Region (I’ve never heard of it either) of the Northwest Territories on the western shore of Great Bear Lake and is 544 km northwest of Yellowknife. I wonder what other monsters are up there…
Nemo Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Yep I think it's true. There is a post on OFC about it I think... The fish was netted though not angled.
