misfish Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 Headed out today for a ride to Couch with the mrs,s this morning. What a great day for a boat ride. Once we got into Couch,I had no satilite readings. So Im guessing I need a new chip for this area and the routes to GBay. The ride back was awesome. 2+ waves coming from the south, and the boat was full out and it was a great ride. When we hit the mouth of Kempenfelt,it was glass. Oh BTW,LOTS of down rigging going on out there. Most I seen in years.
Terry Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 need more info you should have sat reading with or without chip what gps unit do you have
Guest skeeter99 Posted August 15, 2009 Report Posted August 15, 2009 no satellite readings means your unit might be toast you should still get a reading regardless of what chip is in the unit

TC1OZ Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Get the "Tater Chip"!!!... it won't help you with where you're going... ... but you'll be on such a "fat high", you won't care!!! horrible tech joke
Guest steel'n'esox Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 I have a Garmin 276c and the same card you have, it shows only the south end of GB Midland Penatang area, you need the next card over, you can go on Garmins website and get the card number, and also see the areas covered by each card.
Terry Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 I have the cd and one license I have not used, so I think I can put the maps on a chip for him
