eyking Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 can anyone help me to use my cuda 242 for ice fishing.will the transducer work if it is placed in the hole.what to use to keep it in the hole.do i have to put the transducer under the ice so it do not interfer with the ice.
Joeytier Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Transducers work fine under the ice. I try to make sure my transducer is sitting right at the bottom edge of the ice for most accurate depth readings. I tuck all the cable behind the unit except for the amount I need. Works fine for me.
Fisherman Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 The further down the hole you place the transducer, the better result you get. Look at the picture in the link. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...ost&id=9129

Sinker Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Mine works fine, and its not down under the ice. Mine is down about a foot. I don't see any reason to have it down past the ice. I can shoot THRU the ice if I put some water on it. Sinker
