Quick Pike report

Recommended Posts

Went out to Wildwood conservation area near St. Marys this afternoon for a few hours and all I we could manage was one pike. But according to a few people we talked to "you shoulda been here yesterday"

Beautiful day on the water, with just a few small gusts of wind to keep the heat away. The water was pretty murky since the algae die-off.

Got this guy on a chartreuse spinnerbait and measured him out at 30"

Haven't been to Wildwood in a few years. Always caught pike there and sometimes a nice smallie or two as well. Thanks for reminding me, maybe I'll have to make a trip out there before the snow flies.

Thought I'd share a video from a quick trip to Mountsberg Reservoir. Didn't get into any big pike but it is loads of fun to catch huge numbers of smaller ones. Most of the lake is weedy but there is one spot in the center that is a bit deeper than the rest. All the fish came from that ones spot. Enjoy!

For the last 5 years in the summer my wife and I rent a cottage somewhere within a 2ish hour drive from Ottawa for a week of fishing and relaxing. March of last year our little guy was born and the trip has turned into more of a family vacation than a fishing trip as expected. Last year we found a cottage we really enjoyed with great fishing and decided to book it again for our 2019 trip. This year my good friend and his wife joined us on the trip which is always a lot of fun. The little guy is

Hey Guys,  When I last left off, the boat had been put away in her early winter slumber. Its almost impossible to believe that its been 8 months since I put the boat to bed, now it makes me even more sad because that means we are only about 4 months away from putting the boat away again. Holy geeze. The 8 months have provided some pretty decent fishing as the guys and I have grown as anglers, we have really started to dial in on the fish, our standard has definitely risen. We have high

    • Quebec Trip Report

Just got back from our 5 day trip to Lac Dassarat in Quebec. There were about 16 of us this year. Started out with one of the guys having his car smashed in a pile up the Friday before we were leaving; he persevered though and was able to still make it. We made the 6.5 hour trek, with the final 1/2 hour being on a very rough road. We limped in with a flat tire from a puncture. Thankfully the owner of the resort had all the tools to plug it; my buddy ended up putting the spare on to be safe for t
