Legally, no. It needs to be on board, that's it.

 

Common sense would state, yes - wear one. Both are very easy to tip.

Your going to need a few more items than life jacket to be compliant-get one of those kits with whistle, rope-bailing bucket at CT and put it in the kayak.

man i dont think you have mutch fishing kayaks.

 

way safer then a little 12 fooeter and not tippy at all.

 

i stand up in some off mine.

 

there very safe.

 

safer then some boats i see on wtaer and try before.

Paddle boats as well. Most people forget the life jackets when they are in them. The cops on our lake just love stopping the paddle boats.

yes it alwasy good to have it on you.

 

if you paddle a canoe or kayak..there some made for paddlers...there beter to paddle wit..so if there ore comfortable..you will ware it more.

 

better be safe then sorry.

 

and dont forget safety kit in that canoe or kayak if not..kching again..hahaha
