rpsmith
Currently having a problem with my yamaha 30hp at slow speeds. I have to choke it to keep it running-----runs great as soon as I give it some gas. The gas line has some small cracks and the gas bulge is unusually easy to squeeze. Fuel filter is clean. Should I replace gas line? Maybe a dirty carb? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated... thanks
Greencoachdog
Replace your fuel line first, then clean the carb.
limeyangler
I have a Yamaha 30hp too, sometimes the gas bulge is easy to squeeze but i give the gas line connections at the motor end a wiggle and it works great!

Guest Johnny Bass
I had a similar problem. First thing, clean the carb, then change the fuel line, then check the fuel pump! May be something as simple as a bad batch of gas too, if it was sitting too long. Hope its nothing major.

Take the carb(s) off, dissemble and clean them. If the fuel line was the problem, then sure as flypoop in pepper, it definitely wouldn't run then either. mpt
If the bulb is very easy to squeeze the check valve may be bad.
