just wondering as im am a newbie....why dont marine motors have transmission built into them......just wondering why the need for revving them to these extremes revs.......hmmmmmmmmmm

The prop is sized to run at the rpm where the motor makes its best power , a v8 might run 250 hp at 4500rpm but only a 100 hp at 2000rpm.

Look at Play boy magazine, most guys like em big on top not on the bottom, you wanna fatten up the bottom end? More weight less dates.
