lew Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 (edited) Here's the loon pic you asked for Dan, good to hear you liked it. It was continuously diving under our boat for about 20 minutes, presumably feeding on minnows, and I just pointed the camera towards the water and clicked as he made a pass and luckily it turned out OK. It's unbelievable how fast these birds can swim underwater !! Don't know why it appears yellow though, something to do with the water I spose ?? Edited November 29, 2007 by lew
Kawartha Kev Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Hey Lew That picture of the loon does look strange being yellow but reminds me of an even stranger thing that happened to me. I was snorkeling in about 10ft. of water over some rocks when I saw this turtle swimming around on the bottom so I swam down after it all of a sudden this loon comes flying by me underwater a few feet away and grabs a fish scared the daylights out of I didn't realise it immediately until I surfaced and the the loon also surfaced a short distance away now that would have been a picture!!! Deano Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Yeah that's always been a memorable shot, great capture Lew.
danc Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Yes, that's the one Lew. It kind of has an abstract feel to it. Unique colors too. I've always liked that shot a lot. Thanks for posting it again Lew. This time I'm going to download and save it.
