Got the new humminbird797si,,,can't wait to get it on the water...i think the biggest thing is the power of the unit and the vert pixles,,,whatever you go with weather it be color or not try not to sacrifice these two things!!

i used to use my h2o gps and would do that if you wern't aquiring enough satalites...

caa gold plan is the only way to go,,,,with the gold plan they will tow you to your own shop regardless of distance,,,witth the regular plan the will only tow you to the closest repair shop,,,weather open or not

i would tend to agree with pigeon,,,you don't want to look back and wish you spent a little more,,,and then have to upgrade.....ugpgrade first!

one of the most important things,,,a vhs marine radio,,,handheld but perferably amounted unit!! vice-grips,a hammer and duct tape,,,,,you can fix anything with that combo,,,lol

Can anyone tell me from experience of what fish speicies are in this lake?? Doing some research,,,saying that there is only musky and largemouth bass,,,can it be only these two speicies in this lake?? Is there a site the details spiecies in each lake?

oh ya and just fro a stat,,the lowrance can't beat the vert pixles and rms power for th $..believe me i am not putting down lowrance,,,love the machines but thats what i have found in my research

hi all,,,also been looking into the side imaging 797,,,what i think alot of people are getting confused with the side finder or side sonar,,,which is along the same lines,,the side imaging is newer technology,,,and personally i think that this might be the way of the future for sonars,,,if you look at the way the picture is processed and i am sure it might take some time to get to understanding what your looking at,once you do any information gathered is going to help catch more fish!!
