  1. Just thought i would let everyone who plans fish the tony's ice news turnament iit is officially a go!!! Binbrook conservation is opening as of tomorrow,,,and for those that don't know about it... It is sunday morning from 8 am to 1pm...children welcome!! See ya on the ice!! :clapping:
  2. here's my new hut,,,,just need ice!! http://www.fish307.com/productimages/shappell/RV2D_pi_lg.jpg
  3. Here's a little more information for you...as i am in the automtive repair trade and have learned a little about it,,,in canada there is a maximum of 10% ethenol added to fuel(here's where the problem lies)....in regular gasoline that number can vary...up to 15% in some cases,,,and what the major problem with ethenol is it's lack of lubricating qualities and the fact that it burnes at a leaner air to fuel ratio( gas 14:1),,but this may help.....the higher the quality of gas the less ethenol added and more controlled.. an easy test for amount of ethenol in gas is this get a graduated beaker and fill 50% with gas,,,slowly add 50% water,,,cap beaker and shake,,,the ethenol will be absorbed into the water giving you the amount of ethenol in the gas ex.. if the seperation line moved from 50 to 52 that would i believe be 4% ethenol what we are noticing in the automotive trade is that fuel pumps are running at a higher currant rate and burning out quicker due to the lack of lubrication,,,,there's more but thats the biggest one ohh ya,,,never use 85% ethenol in a motor that is not designed to due so!!!!!!!
  4. man...the loss of a freind is always tough,but...i truely believe there is a better place waiting for us all...take care and remember not the loss but what was gained from knowing him!
  5. Thanks mike,,,your a pal,,,but i am already in the midst of buying the shappell rover 2.0dx,,,,is a nice hut with a nice price!!! i just hate waiting,,lol
  6. nice report and even better getiing into some fish on a new ice spot!!!,,,btw what humminbird were ya using??
  7. I gotta go with irishfield on that one..just be gentle!
  8. Well i guess i shoulda bought one earlier,,,but ya know with christmas and all i just couldn't swing it,,,been calling around all week to try to see if anyone still had a clam guide in stock,,,or even would be getting any,,,hhhmmmm,,,,this is where it gets funny!! After not being able to locate any,,,mind you alot of sales out there for huts that don't exist,,,i took it upon myself to contact the clam corperation myself through an e-mail asking why there was such a shortage,,,this was my response Sonny, The guide is a very popular model, in fact we are completely sold out of them for the season. You might be able to find one through Bass Pro or Cabelas, otherwise your best bet is to try calling all the dealers in your area. Here is a link to our dealer locator: http://www.clamcorp.com/company/dealers.html Thanks, Darik Darik Steinbach Customer Service Clam Corporation 763-231-4131 [email protected] Visit www.clamcorp.com to order items online SOOOO instead i will be the proud new owner of a shappell rover 2.0dx.....alls well that ends well,,,more room then a guide and a bench seat to sqeeze in the little guy(don't really need to squeeze..) http://shappell.com/images/RV2D_400.jpg Just thought ya might like to know if you were looking for one!
  9. i just bought one,,,and am very satisfied with it...i know the first ones had some issues butseems to be fixed with the new showdown..
  10. hey lew,,,ya always want to have the fuse before the switch,,,so it would go,,,battery-fuse-switch-unit.... and as for hooking them up together,,,i don't see a problem other then an interferance problem arising,,,as for electrical no problem,,,but don't forget the larger the load the larger diameter wire you will need to carry it!
  11. yes it does but i am mainly going to use it during the storage time,,,it is also fully automatic,,,so if one battery doesn't need a charge the it doesn't get one,,, or simply maintains them
  12. Ok here's the question first,,,can i extend the length of cables on the battery charger i bought for my boat,,,it is a 5/5 two bank charger made by promariner for bps... Now the reason for asking,,,, it says in the instructions i quote "coil excess cable, do not cut or shorten the length of the cables as there is an inline fuses located four inches from the end" Now working with all the electrical over the year i don't see any reason for not being able to extend the length of the cables as long as i don't use a smaller diameter cable,i solder joint and heat shrink them, and leave the fuses intact... The reason for needing to lengthen the cable is location of the battery's,,,one in the bow(electric motor) and one in the stern(cranking),,,the cables will not reach Thanks for the input
  13. I was impressed with the bob izumi series that i believe ht is making....
  14. Had a great time.,, did a little more playing then fishing,,,sure is neet haveing all the fishing toys,,,,and was great to get out on the river so early in the season,,,not sure how it will be after this warm spell,,,just gottta hope it gets colder at night!! thanks for the hospitality steve!!!
  15. I second binbrook conservation for the simple reason is that they won't let you on the ice untill it's definatly safe,,or go with a hut operator up at simcoe,,,,no need for beginners to be heading out on new ice,,,just my opinion,,,,don't want to see anyone hurt is all
  16. Here's a question for all of us out there,,,,are women really that much different when their away?? I think i found proof!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3o8tgAZE-I anyone else have any proof???
