Hey Terry, It seems to me most are heading to Gilford but I am still thinking Virginia Beach for me. Adds about 20 - 25 minutes to my trip but its worth it I think. Better size and you don't really have to go that far out. Lots of action at Gilford for sure but mostly all dinks.

New Years Day = fishing liscence renewals
tapout replied to Dondorfish's topic in General Discussion
I just heard the biggest load of crap from the CTC here in Brampton South. I just called and enquired about buying my licence there and they said they have them in store but the MNR has told them they are forbidden to sell them until January. Sounds kinda odd to me. Anyone know anything about this? -
HNY to everyone aswell. like2fish, welcome to the OFC Board. Not sure how long you've been reading the board but you'll love it here. As for your question, Do a topic search and if that fails post a new thread about what you need info on.

Hey everyone, Since many were mentioning they are going to Simcoe I'd thought I'd like to see who is going for sure and I've decided I'm gonna go too. I was at Gilford Yesterday and Virginia Beach 2 days earlier and VB gets my vote as for the location for tomorrow. Lots of action and Size. Also I'm leaving from Brampton so if anyone wants to hook up to share costs then post back here or send me an email and we'll take it from there. Cheers all. Tony

hey guys, Well after meeting up with emil we loaded his things aboard my van and off we went about 5:45 from Brampton. Headed along King road road and when I decided to make a detour around Bolton, I missed a turn somewhere along the way and before I knew it we were at hwy 9. We decided to head onwards to Gilford anyway as we were supposed to meet Tybo and Joey at the service centre on the 400. We must've just missed you at the shore Joey because we we're out on the ice at about 7:30 as well. Emil had some gps co-ordinates so I just followed him as best I could. He didn't stop until he was about 1.5 - 2 kms off shore. His ice cleats we're much needed and used well as I didn't see him lose a step, while I on the otherhand was performing moves that would make most figure skaters envious with just a pair of boots with no cleats. As Joey said we met up with them as we got to shore. Chatted a bit and then off we went. I landed about 40 or so perch with the biggest about 11 inches. I kept 20 and let the rest swim again. Had a great time out there and hope to meet some other OFC'rs out there soon. Cheers.

hey Joey, We haven't decided on any particular spot yet. I tried calling you but it keeps telling me the call cannot be completed as dialled. Send me an email with your number and I'll call you and we can arrange somewhere along the way to meet. I'm thinking the Timmies at the 400 service station.

hey joey, Me and Icefisherman are heading to gilford this sunday morning. Care to meet us there? Haven't seen you and Tybo in a couple years. I went to Virginia Beach today and did ok on the perch. I landed about 55 to 60 and kept about 30.

we've gotten to the start page and have selected safe mode and then it goes back to the "skipping" again.

How ya feeling GCD? Audio was fine on my end. Listen to what they are talking about. Not the typical things you'd expect to hear from a couple of girls. From men yes but not them.
-
Thanks Terry. Now for the fun to begin. How do I do that?
-
lol.. not much of a difference for sure.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a computer problem. My sister's pc is "skipping" right on the start up and seems to get stuck there. The screen briefly shows her pc make, and then briefly windows xp screen and then back to pc make and then windows xp screen and over and over. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be her problem and any possible remedies? Tony.

I am going to Nipissing in Jan. Exact dates not set in stone as of yet but most likely will be trying for the first.....new years day. It lands on a Tuesday so I will most likely be taking that week off work. I am going to southbay and will see about renting a ice hut from an operator in the area I've used before. Good location too. Not as crowded as Callander Bay gets. I like it more peaceful. Pm me a message about costs. I have room for 2 people and I have enough rods and tip-ups for us. Just bring your lures, food, etc. If anyone is interested post here or pm me. Thanks. P.S. I will be leaving from Brampton. Tony.

Glad to see you're on the mend Glen. And misfish...whats up with telling him to hit the screech anyway? Thats stuff is horrible and not even a newfie drink. Sheeesh. Now Iceberg Vodka. Thats made right on the rock with all the ingredients from there. Well I think the bottles might be imported. lol. I had a scare on Tuesday. Got up to go to work and being an ex smoker....will be one year on Jan. 2nd since I quit....I still have to clear my lungs in the morning, much to the dismay of the others I live with. Not pleasant sounding for anyone being awaken by my hacking and coughing. Anyway I felt a little worst then normal but decided to make my way to work anyway. Stopped off at an Esso station to grab a timmies coffee. You know the ones where you have to go in and mix your own. And NO I didn't add any kaluha to it. Anyway my stomach started churning and I ran outside....left my half made coffee there. I didn't make it across the gas bay with out decorating it with my breakfast. Still didn't feel like I was done and proceded to decorate the snow drift at the side of the gas station. Once I was satisfied that I had no decorations left I went in and grabbed my coffee, paid for it and as I was heading to my car I felt like I had to clear my lungs again....but this time the phlegm was full of blood. Man was I frightened to death. turned around immediately and went home and went to the doc. He checked my out and said I look and sound fine now and what happened was during my hacking fit I burst a couple of small blood vessels in the back of my throat. First thing he thought was it might be pneumonia. No it wasn't thankfully. Spooked the hell outta me though.

So do we really have equal rights here between the genders?

Misfish - I figured you'd be the first to respond. LOL

Five Canadian Surgeons are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on. The first, an Ontario surgeon says, "I like to see accountants on my Operating table, because when you open them up, everything inside is Numbered." The second, a Quebec surgeon responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded." The third a B.C. surgeon says, "No, I really think librarians are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order." The fourth, an Alberta surgeon chimes in: "You know, I like auto mechanics...those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over. But the fifth, a Newfoundland surgeon shut them all up when he observed:” You’re all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains and no spine, and the head and the ass are interchangeable What you guys think? lol Tony

Please don't say you live in Brampton. I have an ex that was very abusive towards me and she lives here in Brampton too. Thank god another part of the city. I know what its like to be on the recieveing end in an abusive relationship. I refused to call the police because here in Canada the law punishes the victim. Like I said before.....its ok to attack...illegal to defend.

Was flicking through the channels and came to CNN and they are showing the flooding out there. Incredible! As for the flood levels in King / Chehalis, WA, they said a major flood level is 65 feet. They have reached levels of 75 feet. A record level. Previous record was about 70 feet back in 1996. So far only 2 people reported "missing". Lets hope and pray they turn out to be ok.
-
Hey Terry, did the officer end up charging them with assault or let them go? Your neighbour saw it therefore an eye witness. Tony.

I sorta know the feeling grandman. Can't really comment on your situation but that seems to be justice...Canadian style. About 5 years ago I was attacked by a family member, it was in the morning and he threw his tea on me because I didn't want to hear about his arguement with another family member. Well that didn't go over well with me and of course a "struggle" ensued. I defended myself but can say I didn't throw one punch as this family member is quite a bit older. He though did. Anyway Peel's Finest showed up. No charges we're laid but I...hear that..ME, MOI, I got the warning from the police. I then said, " SO what your saying is I am not allowed to defend myself?" They refused to answer, and then cited that the courts will not care and will look at me being younger, bigger, and stronger, therefore at fault. I was flabbergasted. What I gathered from them is..." Its ok to attack someone as long as they are younger, bigger and stronger. If they defend themselves then they get charged." what the heck is up with that? And people wonder why so many people have little trust or faith in the police or justice system. For the record, I trust the police as a whole alot more then the justice system. One recent case in point was the gang busts earlier this year in the Jane/Finch area. Kudos to the Police for their great operation. But then the courts ordered the prosecution to pay X number of "detainees" 2000 dollars each for not getting their bail hearings in 3 days. again...what the heck? There should be exceptions when the case involves violent gangs, weapons, or hardcore drugs - in such cases of mass arrests. A clearly documented violent gang has many of its members taken off the street and are then paid....handsomely I might add. Wonder what those members will do with that money? Replace the gun that was taken from them by the police? Buy more of their"product" to sell? If I remember wasn't there an Ontario based lawyer that used to frequent the board? Not sure of his name but if hes still around maybe he can give some advice. Cheers all.
