Thanks to FishnNAutographs for clarifying that what the officer did was LEGAL. But does that mean he should've put other people in jeopardy? Does the apprehension of a burglar supercede the life of an innocent citizen? Now I know some will say it could've been something more serious like someone got injured or worst by someone else maliciously. If that was the case then it would seem the officer, in his course of duties, had more concern for catching the perp then helping the victim if there was one. I can't see how what this officer did, according to nautifish's description of the weather at the time, was justified. I am by no means bashing the force, but this officer in my opinion had put the public in danger and not lived up to the " To Serve and Protect" motto...the "Protect" part being cited here. Yes we all make mistakes, even police officers. But when we, as civilians make mistakes we have to pay for them. I believe if an officer made a bad judgement call, such as the topic and situation of nautifish's rant, then I believe he should be accountable and be punished the same as all of us, if something serious had happened. Obviously he can't be charged with dangerous driving because the Law permits him to do so in the "line of his duties" . We live in a country that purports itself as a land where ALL people are equal.Last time I checked a police officer was a person. One more thing , the stop sign comment from FishnNAutographs stating the HTA doesn't specify what kind of stop? I assume you are refering to a "rolling stop" where you don't actually stop. I know someone who had gotten a ticket for doing that so to me that also shows that the police recognize a "rolling stop" as a dangerous and ticketable offense. Even though its legal doesn't make it right. Thats my opinion and probably not even worth 2cents. Tony.

Hey everyone, Been awhile since I've been on the board. Life really threw me a curveball the last couple of years. I've finally gotten things straightened out so the fish better beware. I'll be out in force this winter for sure. Hope to meet up with some of you again, and also to meet up with some of you for the first time. Nippising will definitely be on the schedule. I also will be having a beginner fisherman joining me for his first ice fishing experience. My nephew will turn 6 in march and hes been asking me when we will have enough ice to...since October hes been asking. I think I have a great future fishing partner in the makings here. For those of you who are eagerly awaiting the ice can check out a live web cam of Nippising. Can't tell you the ice thickness but it does show the conditions and weather. Hey guys, was watching the A channel news and caught a glimpse of something on the TV and once I got closer to the tv set I saw it was an OFC toque on the head of someone being asked something by the reporter. It was down by the Barrie marina I think. May I ask who that was? just curious.

I'm hoping to be going there by the first week of Feb. All depends on the other party in my group. If he doesn't go I'm sol cuz I don't have a vechicle.

Hey everyone. well I have had a bit of time on my hands. Sorry I wasn't a whizz in english class back in high school. hope I don't bore anyone. 'Twas the Night before Opener' Twas the night before opener, when all through the land Not a 'fish' was swimming, not even a 'salmon'. The rods were placed by the 'lowerunit' with care, In hopes that St 'nick' soon would bring beer. The 'tip-up' was nestled, in the 'bigun' 'taklebox', While 'lew' dreamed of 'muskiesnlakers' swimming under the docks. And 'joey' in her nighty, and 'tybo' puffin' the pipe, We won't mention what they did on this long winter’s night. When out in the night, someone did yell, And startled 'roy'awake, and out of the bed he sure fell. He stumbled to the window, half asleep and half drunk, And heard 'misfish' say, that his 'fishfinder' was junk. The roads were filling with nearly 2 ft of snow, As 'Roy' the 'Fisher' wondered if fishing they would be able to go. When, what to his wondering eyes should appear, But St.'nick' in a 'bigchev4x4' with the back full of beer. A little old driver, his hair all frizzy, was honking for 'roy', who was now feeling dizzy. "Hurry Hurry" the OFC gang has came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name! "Now 'big cliff'! now, 'irishfield'! now, 'graftongal' and 'taper', On, 'T.J'! On, 'spiel'! on, 'pigeonfisher' and 'caper'! In the back! Grab on! don't forget to 'holdfast' Someone get 'roy', we need be 'haulinbass'. The tires spun, making the snow fly, When they meet with an obstacle, slid 'round in a slide. Up to the stop sign, around the corner they went, with a truck full of ofncers with beers to be drunk. So once the opener gets here, be sure to post, Of all the ones that got away, and of who caught the most, Of walleyes,and whitefish, and perch and 'laketrout', You'll have a great time,once you can get out. hey there everyone and merry christmas. Well I need some help with my pc. A couple weeks ago the sound on my pc when I play music or any audio sounds all distorted. It almost sounds like its playing in slow motion but yet at normal speed. Its weird. Thought it might've been my speakers but tried them out on another pc and they work fine. I should also mention it was about the same time that I removed a virus using Norton. I've done some checking on the pc about the drivers and other hardware conflicts and it always says its working properly. But its obvisously not. can anyone help me? Cheers. P.S. : I didn't get any fishing gear for christmas. Closest thing I got was binoculars. We'll see how good they are at spotting those walleyes.

hey there beats, Check with your local Canadian Tire. I have a few and thats where I got them a couple years ago. Most bait and tackle stores will most likely have them as well.

Its the MNR regulations. No fishing until Jan 1st. I am heading up to Nippissing on Jan 1st and spending 3 nights there.

Does anyone know if Nippissing is starting to freeze over? Particularly around Jessops Island on the south shore? Cheers!!
