  1. Great game last night! Super entertaining! Go Leafs Go!!
  2. I'm glad the Leafs are done today. I'm always excited to think about who we could get and equally stressed about what(who) they'll give up!! lol Just glad we're not part of the fire sale in Ottawa!! hahaha
  3. I'm wondering what's going to happen today...my first thought when I heard about the Plekanic trade was " if they're doing something with the forwards, I'll be surprised if they don't improve the back end." It just makes sense.
  4. I'm not saying Nash isn't a good player, but I don't see the hype. Nash and Plekanic are 4 points apart this season. There's more to the package than just points but I think the Leafs did well on that deal.
  5. Does anyone know a good investment advisor in the Hamilton > Niagara region they know, trust and has had good experience with? Just pm me.
  6. Sounds fantastic!! I'd love to catch one of those giant minnows!
  7. I agree. The simple standard of finishing a check is out of the Leafs game. They turn away and do a little stick poke on their way by. I don't want them playing a tough guy game but opponents hang on to the puck forever without fear.
  8. Closed after only 3 years in business too. I guess this location was too close to the Bass Pro Shops. No surprise after the amalgamation.
  9. He is obviously not the typical Ottawa Senators fan. Most are easy-going, understanding, and light-hearted about their team...like Matt!!!
  10. Karlsson is next.
  11. Glad we could help wipe away those tears!! That is where you go to cry after the Ottawa games right?? Phaneuf is a scoring MACHINE!! Must have been the Senators fault he was so crappy! LOL
  12. I brought back my old Ranger and they spent more time looking at the stuff my son bought (clothes, etc) than the boat!! Honestly, they never looked inside or opened a single compartment! lol
  13. Dead easy...worry about it if and when you find a boat.
  14. I was told 30 years when I wanted to buy my first boat to save my money and when I had enough to buy an 18" boat with a 150... keep saving and get a 20' lol It was VERY good advice. The difference in price and the difference in ride, comfort and fishibility(yeah, that's a word lol) makes it a no brainer. The disclaimer to this is if you know you're going to fish a small Haliburton lake 99% of the time...like a cottage owner for example. And in spite of the US exchange right now, shop the US! People just look at the exchange rate only but that's a mistake... it's a supply and demand market and the US has a $hi! ton of boats on the market.
  15. My advice to you is simple, I know you're not buying a boat anytime soon but investigate, talk to, ride in, whatever...the boat you think you want and just as importantly, boats you like but don't think can do the job. I'm not out to convince you of anything but I lived and fished GBay for 16 years and ran the gap many times in a bassboat, fished eastern Lake Ontario in a bassboat and now fish Erie in a bassboat; if you fish bass 99% of the time, you need to get an accurate view of the capabilities of a decent bassboat. Frankly, your assumptions are dead wrong. If I had to cross the gap in 6 footers I'd pick my Ranger all day. I'd get wet, but I'd get there safely. I can't tell you how many times I've driven past aluminum deep V's on Erie in the rough stuff. It's not a shot at deep V aluminums...they great boats, I get it. But if you think you're going to buy a bassboat that runs 55-65 MPH and NOT make runs out to the untouched waters at PAB, you kidding yourself. One thing these boats do GREAT is make big bodies of water really small. The first time I was ever in a bassboat was in Midland around 1989. We ran from the docks to Roberts Island east of Beausoleil in ~5 minutes. I was sold because previous to that, it was a journey to get there. Point Au Baril to the outer islands in under 12 mins? unless to happen to smack the granite! LOL But the big advantage today are the graphs...go dead slow the first and lay down a trail...if you don't hit at 25mph, you're not going to hit with that boat up out of the water at 60.
  16. Ok, I know it can happen to me easily as I get older but I'm confused A bassboat?? Last month you said: "Not to spark up the debate about bass boats...but I have always said that those things are friggin stupid when fishing big open lakes. Id personally never buy one because how in the hell is a boat thats 1 foot off of the water ever going to stay afloat in a 6 foot chop." Now I happen to know you're comment was based on a lack of knowledge about what happened on Big O and the fact you have no experience with then but why the sudden change of heart?
  17. Ok Matt, you gotta laugh, Phaneuf plays his first game with LA, scores a goal and they LOSE!! Ottawa plays tonight, Gaborik gets a goal and an assist and they WIN!! Moral of the story is...Phaneuf is bad luck lmao
  18. Interesting read. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/editorinleaf.com/2018/02/15/toronto-maple-leafs-phaneuf-trade-remains-leafs-masterstroke/amp/
  19. And if he was playing for Vegas, do you still think they'd be where they are with Methot out and Phaneuf in? lol He's sucks the life out of any team he plays for.
  20. My friends wife called him at work one day to ask why there was a little tea pot lit up on the dash.
  21. John, do you do emissions testing?
  22. Only if it's a top ten pick... I believe if the Sens pick 11th, it goes to Colorado....I think. Either way, Otta-move has tons of time to screw it up and wins some games. "The real talking point with the draft picks is the Sens gave up their first round pick in 2018. While this may seem bad, we have to consider that it is likely to be a late first round pick as the Sens are projected to do quite well this season(this part made me LAUGH). However, even on the off chance that the Sens perform poorly, the pick is top 10 protected. This means that if the Sens were to pick in the top 10 the pick would slide to 2019. As a result, there is zero chance the Sens give up a top prospect for Duchene."
  23. Matthews gets 3 assists and they beat the best team in the league!! There's so much scoring potential on this team now that Matthews can't outscore the sum of all the parts. Look at Crosby's numbers in his first years...same goals as Matthew but mad number of assists.
  24. Hate to rub salt in the Ottawa wound but check the trade stats on Duchene, Ottawa traded away their 1st round pick in 2018!!!! The year they suck like no other, their 1st round pick goes to Colorado! So to answer your question Brian, NOPE won't help them a bit. Colorado, yes! LOL Should be Otta-move!
  25. It has a lot to do with what the guys upstairs do as well. The better the players are around him, the more points he'll rack up. Right now he's playing very defensively( thank God) and still scoring. Imagine if he could push more often knowing there were actually defensemen back there? Also, the other young forwards around him will be getting better over time. I could see him hitting 50 but that's just one aspect of a great player. Crosby has had one 50 goal season in 13 years but he puts up big points. If Matthews can get his line mates goals that's even better.
