  1. Ohh and GbayGiant, the amount of hackle and maribou in each of your musky baits in your signature is enough to last me a couple doz flies lol... I use several individual strands of it on each fly not thousands as you have in the spinnerbait
  2. Yup... I love it and no better a feeling than catching a fish with a fly you made and even better if it was your design... Eventually it is worth it... the initial investment is alot and learning to tie is time consuming but after you learn a fly you can tie them quickly, till you ghet a new one then you have to get good at it then its easy again... Besides that though its really easy
  3. Those are some kind words... lol I have had some success with them on rainbows in the past, these are just a little different...
  4. Well Here are a couple of new variations of leech/attractor sort of patterns I tied... Tell me what you think, I am planning on using these on the grand this year...
  5. Hey everyone... just wondering if any of you all can give me a hand... I think I may be in the Saguenay/chicoutemi region of Qc, and wanted to know what the regs would be for an ontario minor... as well how I would get A licence if required and if there are any good places to fish, preferably fly fishing for trout but anything will do. Thanks in advance... Bill
  6. I nail knot the backing to the fly line and then use a loop to loop for the fly line to leader and from leader to tippet I use the blood knot... If you want to avoid doing the loop to loop you can always nail knot the leader to the fly line and pull really tight... I have done that and it works fine...
  7. Nice man.... That was funny thanks for sharing that
  8. Yup... I do read the manuals every year and check em everytime before I go out... Most water is closed at the moment except for certain exceptions in S.O. I was talking about general rules and not exceptions
  9. And as a matter of fact you can find lots of not so busy spots for trout... If anyone is wondering about some PM me and I will try to help you out... I am a fly fisherman so I may leave a couple of FFing only spots out but that is for the good of the trout... I always fish for trout Barbless as well and ALWAYS release them unless I am doing some sort of week-long trip...
  10. C.C fishing opener is not an excuse to have a BBQ... It is ILLEGAL to fish for trout next week, no matter what conditions may be... Please make sure to read the issued manuals before fishing any species and body of water so as to be on the safe side...
  11. Its amazing how Ignorant people are... aparently it is good luck but any posession of these things should be illegal so as to slow down the process
  12. Not too many nations have the same quality of citizen as Canada and I am glad to see some of the Good stories coming out. Thanks for sharing that

  23. Well yesterday we decided we would head up to keswick for a little bit of perch action if we were lucky... the morning started at 6 am when we woke up and after leaving the house at 7 we were only about an hour and a half from keswick. We arrived at about 8:30 and met with hopped on board the nada argo to be brought onto the Ice. unfortunately the bite was slow but we did manage to catch 8 of em, all approx 7 inches... Heres a couple of pictures on the Ice. Simcoes landscape... The minnows... not much smaller than the perch we caught and they were much more abundant A picture down the hole... kinda cool how much light there is almost like the ice is a spotlight... And the star of the day, a 7 3/4 " perch! althought the bite wasn't all that great for us we did enjoy ourselves and it was much warmer in the hut than it would have been out in the wind... Thanks for reading...
