Here is some info from an article though: link:FOREST HILL LODGE I have fished Lovesick for many years, caught hundreds of muskies there, and cannot remember a single incident that detracted from my enjoyment. The lake is beautiful, the fishing is good and the people I have met have been most pleasant. I was originally attracted to Lovesick by the facilities and people at Forest Hill Lodge (great food and cedar boats). I also discovered that the fishing is better than my previous lake (Upper Buckhorn) and that the size and location of Lovesick make it less likely to get rough in windy weather. We have seldom been unable to fish Lovesick. We usually fish Lovesick in early June and mid July. We used to fish in late September but those can be too cold for us. The lures we use are not as large as some might think, but we cast and retrieve all day so we cannot use the really big plugs. Small spinners and bucktails work well for us. We have caught many large fish on small lures. Since I do my shopping at flea markets the lures I use most are pikie-minnows, vamps, mustangs, swim-whiz and mepps spinners. I know nothing of modern lures. Trolling is permitted on Lovesick, but is seen by some as a less than honest way to catch a fish and therefore should be reserved for use by young boys, old men and pregnant women. I sometimes troll. For gear we use medium to heavy casting rods about 5ft long, with Ambassador 5000 series reels. We use monofilament line of at least 20 lb test. Some fishermen use wire leaders, I do not. The best advice I can give a beginner is to keep the lure moving quickly and if you look down from your boat and do not see weeds, you are in the wrong place.

Here are some of the ones I bought. Some at Dollarama, some at other Dollar stores. I did not purchase and wouldn't trust any weaker looking lures (no pics!). Again, these are good lures and will help with your budget when kiddies and friends want to lose your lures. I also like to send these into dodgey looking water like one of those sacrificial lamb/red coated ensons from STAR TREK They all have beads and loud rattles (well not the spoons and spinners) I bought the exact same large topwater one below at BPS for $6. DOH! Yeah Baby!! YEAH!!!!!!!

Thanks all, Here are some modifications I started that will hopefully be done tonight: Sorry about the pic quality. The one spinner has the 3/0 weedless treble and the other is unmodified. It is the exact treble that PATRICK put the link up for. You can see the modification on the jointed lure. It will have the weedless texas rig. I have some more.....somewhere..........

I have purchased Mustad 3/0 weedless hooks from JB's already. (Grabbed them while picking up St.croix rod repair for myself and some other guy-forgot his name) That was the largest they had. I will give it a try. I may try "Dressing" some hooks myself when I get a time machine and create extra leisure time.

Oh come on! Nooooooobody has tried this?? O.k. Has anyone done it to any crankbaits, jerkbaits? Jailbaits? Anything?

After raking weeds at the Bog last week, I decided to try adorning my lures with weedless treble hooks. The lures will be my single treble in-line spinners. I am wondering if I should sacrifice getting a "light bite" catch due to the wire obstructing the hooks tip as opposed to ruining the lures presentation with the lure trailing weeds. Thanks! S.

Yup Remember when I casted your lure into the tree! Glad it made it back. I panic when the fish goes for a run under the 'Yak. I also plan to walk/swim to show just in case....... Exacctly!
