  1. Good point.
  2. How far back are you going to claim that Ottawa beat the Stars twice? It wasn't this season. Never the less, I am surprised by their performance so far. If they keep it up, there may be some good deals on tarps; maybe even in time to winterize some boats.

  4. No, flossing is specifically getting the fishing line in the fish's mouth. Think of flossing your teeth. The floss goes in one side of your mouth and out the other. That's where the name comes from. If the fish swims into your line and ends up with the line going in one side of its mouth and out the other, then the fish has been flossed. Any attempt to hook a fish somewhere other than their mouth is snagging regardless of actual technique.
  5. Actually, a flossed fish is legal as long as its hooked in the mouth. Although, flossins is frowned on, it would be too difficult to enforce a law that attempted to separate fish that were flossed versus fish that bit a lure or bait. But, hooking it in the body is called snagging; not flossing.
  6. Studded tires are not legal in southern Ontario; and would be overkill for the Toronto area.

  8. If Sundin had wanted to leave Toronto, he would have signed in the offseason, not half way thorugh the season in mid-December. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but it seems a bit funny to blame someone for refusing to waive a no-trade clause. What's the point in having a no-trade clause if the player shouldn't be able to use it? I would have liked to see the Leafs get something for him; but I just don't see why a player would be obligated to not use a clause in his contract.
  9. That's 100% on the Leafs; he wanted to finish his career with Leafs. The Leafs chose not to resign him. He eventually ended up signing with Vancouver (he actually missed a good chunk of the season because if signed later in the year) It doesn't make sense to blame Sundin for the Leaf's decision to not bother re-signing someone who wants to play for them.
  10. I guess they knew that they couldn't reach the top bar, so they decided to go for the bottom one. ?
  11. Senators' management drops the ball once more... https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/senators-drop-ball-home-opener-035524257.html
  12. Frenchman's Bay and deep water in the same sentence? What does he consider deep?
  13. We also had three cool summers, before, after, and between those two cold winters. That may have contributed to the die offs as well. But, other factors such as quagga/zerba mussels and cormorants probably didn't help either. Those die offs were the reason that salmon were stocked in the first place. The combination of salmon, quagga/zebra mussels, & corporants have worked a little too well.
  14. MEA is looking for volunteers to clip coho salmon this Saturday at Ringwood Hatchery "We have to clip all our Coho before they can be released. Plan is to clip on either Sat Sept 29 or Sunday Sept 30. IF you are available either day and wish to help can you send me an email with when you are able to do so. Firm commitments only please. Also, Please pass along request to anyone you feel may be willing to help. The more help we have the easier it is on everyone. Final logistics will be sent out prior – once we know when we can have the most manpower available. It will likely take a full day to clip all the Coho…. Lunch is provided."
  15. From what I understand, the license revenue is used to fund fisheries. However, our fisheries were well funded before the licences were introduced. The license revenue was supposed to be over and above the existing funding that came out of general revenues. But, in the end, license revenue has replaced, not added to, funding from general revenues.
  16. Could be worse...
  17. Don't try this at home. Or, anywhere else for that matter.
  18. Which "top" players were missing? Was it anybody with NHL experience? Did Ottawa's "top" players play against Matthews and the Marlies today then? It didn't seem to help.
  19. Can't really see how well they're doing until they play someone other than Ottawa...
  20. Flushing one down the toilet would usually send it to a sewage treatment plant, so I highly doubt that is the way that most of them got into the lake. If you are on a combined sewar and you flushed during a major storm, it may have a chance. But, I think dumping them from an acquarium directly into a stream/pond/lake is a far more likely source for them.
  21. That doesn't change the fact that BRP is a separate company from the Bombardier that makes planes and transit vehicles.
  22. Mine works fine for me. My actual lot is only about 47' x 110'. But I also maintain two boulevards and a greenway.
  23. I do recall hearing that both stripers (or it may have been hybrids) and salmon were considered. I not sure how reliable the sources was though.
  24. It was another name for blue walleye. But, I think DNA studies indicate that blue walleye was not actually a separate species from walleye.
  25. I have only ever heard of one being caught; it's probably the one from Joestier's link. I understand that there are stripers in the Hudson River. So I believe that they could enter the Great Lakes through the Erie Canal. Once they are here, there are plenty of white bass for them to breed with.
