  1. Good point. One inland lake I fish with my dad in July has a weedbed that stetches about 300 yards along shore in 7-8fow, trolling spinner on the edge back and forth works well enough that's it's all we do and said lake
  2. Lol. You do realize it's simple to remove by hand right?
  3. Casting for me, 95% of the time. I know the structure etc im looking for and can pick off specific areas of said structure. If I was on huge water bodies, I'd probably change my tune real quick though Only time I've trolling is if we need a quick lunch and aren't doing shore lunch
  4. Ok I might back off my old ways and repel the ticks lol
  5. I hope it's just out floating jer and it's recovered. Best wishes man We get the same around here on the river every other year or so with high water, docks and boats floating all over. Even found staircases and picnic tables a few years back
  6. Yes!!!! Looking forward to some wicked edits
  7. I remember seeing those pics Geoff! That's epic! Hey Bill, when I was playing bantam, my grampa(who played professional hockey in Europe) flew me to Toronto for his eye surgery. Said he had a surprise for supper and guess who supper was with? Don cherry. Longest supper ever hahaha, but he is totally different off camera, super chill nice guy. The guy can literally talk hockey for days. That was a big highlight for me growing up
  8. Dave that's the best post I've seen in forever ?????
  9. Im with bill. Also, this "classy" thing came up a few weeks ago when my mom heard about the suicide dood from the NFL. She started trashing professional athletes hard lol. Overpaid idiots is what she called them. I kinda took offense since our kids all play sports and are all doing really well. My oldest plays rep team and is basically a shoe in for the muskies that win NORWASA frequently. He also just got his second regionals gold in basketball. Anyhow, I started telling and showing her stories from around NHL players and even juniors. Needless to say she was pretty shocked. I mean yeah, they get paid alot to play a game. But if your not a big charity guy in the NHL or juniors, good luck with your team mates and peers. Nobody wants to be "that guy". They almost all do amazing work inside and outside of hockey. I'll say the same for the CFL these days. NHL is just world class. Even the dood you "hate" on the ice, is more than likely doing amazing things for people in need
  10. What geoff said, I tried this for leader material and you can't even set a hook. Just snaps
  11. After a serious injury and many complications, I haven't wetted a line since Nov 25 2016. Well today, after being released from the hospital, I went to the RRFN dock with my mom and daughter, full cripple style. My gawd was it nice to wash some lures! Unfortunately you could see where the pike would be, by the sucker spawn, and on crutches that wasn't accessible. But I did manage two hours of casting from a chair on the dock. Missed 6 or 7 bites. Had sunshine(and heavy winds) but man was that the therapy I needed! Being injured can take you to a dark place, and a simple fish was uplifting to the point words cannot describe! Hopefully better weather tomorrow and I can get right back out! Lots pelicans and some great scenery, a lil windburn, and the realisation my shore tackle is a disaster, made for some great times! And of course, our lil lilybugs came with and was full of tales to tell Grandma! My mom's first time watching the lake sturgeon surface too! She was in heaven. "No wonder you spend so much time down here" were her words Thanks for reading!
  12. Fun part was teaching the wife today. She's never drove a truck in her life, so that was pretty fun offroading, hill climbing and parking lessons lol Thanks again guys!
  13. Horrible story, sad to say the least I've taken in a big wave before and got really lucky I was 50ft off shore. Lots of twist and turns on rainy river and the water was glass. Me and a buddy in a 16ft turned the corner sharp near shore as it's deep compared to the middle of the turn, actually everyone takes that route as it's marked. As we turn the corned we know we're instantly in trouble as it was 60km windgusts coming off a flat feild and instantly it went from glass to a 6ft gong show chop, took Abit of water over the side as we veered for shore and almost took a 6 footer right over the bow. Seriously off by 2cm, we woulda sunk right then and there and probably been badly injured too, then in for the swim of our lives. Got to shore, proceeded VERY close to shore back towards were we came from and ended up fishing the glass 100 yards off the launch lol Scary stuff though how quick something dangerous could occur so quickly We take the American side now, waaaày safer
  14. Good stuff guys! Im all for recycling. If it doesn't NEED to be in a landfill it shouldn't be!
  15. Cool! I'll check into for the dogs! Myself im cool with the bugs lol, 37 years of it im used to heavy bugs
  16. Thanks! Not much vehicle theft here, so im not worried about that. Too small of a town/area
  17. Nice work Simon! Be well worth it when you're finished.
  18. No I bought this truck. I mean when I worked in the oilfield I always had a company truck. No personal vehicles allowed, understandably
  19. Basically until they die. Youde be well aware of it at that point, trust me. They expand about 10 fold their normal size
