  1. I watched Martian last night, and although a little over the top, I thought it was entertaining. A few pretty funny lines in it too! In a dark sense of humour
  2. Good read! Partially explains why it's so hard to find a used one.
  3. Yep that's the one! Wholesale sports. Great store IMO. They always seem to have everything Im looking for And yes, great staff
  4. Simon, I forget the name but there is an AWESOME store in Winnipeg that I hit up when im there. It's by the casino somewhere It's a big store but not quite Cabela's or basspro size. I happened to stumble on it a few years back and now I go a few times a year I'll try to figure out the name for future trips
  5. Function and quality
  6. Nah, if I could afford it I'd buy a tundra
  7. Great to hear! I've been texting him off and on (not during chemo) He also says his team is awesome! And his neighbours are helping as much as possible! And his wife is a champ!
  8. Yep. Best reel imo
  9. Yep! We do have deeper lakes and the bass are just fine. But with walleye/perch/crappie and pike, it's rare in my experience to keep bass. I've kept maybe 5 in my entire life and probably 4 of those were because of a deep hook. I've kept them on deep trout lakes like the lower/upper Manitou. I kept one on rainy river and I don't even know how they are alive??? The flesh was so mushy I absolutely butchered filleting it as my fingers would easily press through. Fed that one to the dogs The taste to me is just ok. Which is weird, for a species that eat so many crawfish I'd expect them to taste amazing
  10. Yes and no. Here, alot of bass are in shallow warm waters. The flesh is very soft and wormy like Simon said
  11. Most zones are open year round and because there are bassillions of bass, and not many eat them. Populations here are insane
  12. Awesome!!!! Darn good day of NW Ontario phishin'
  13. Clinic! Nice edit too Always pictured cat fishing to be kinda slow. That looks like one heck of a productive day! Jealous! And great net jobs too btw
  14. It just looks gnarly, so it's intimidating. It doesn't hurt nearly as bad as it looks. Ie Simon's voice barely flinches. The bruising afterwards is kinda bad though. Your hand will def. Be sore for a few days but it's bareable(just like a bruise) Punching though hurts a tad less, but it's negligeable imo, but sometimes necessary. My grammar hurts worse...
  15. Lol, whatta wuss. 200+ fish day, suck it up buttercup. What's on the menu with fresh perch? I'd suggest ciabatta bread, fried perch sandmiches with coleslaw
  16. Yep, back these. And always a Palomar or double palomar
  17. Does anyone but bass pros use fluorocarbon mainline? Casting fluorocarbon is like eating over cooked pork. Yeah it works but it's hardly enjoyable
  18. Pp mainline. I usually just run it straight. I do use fluorocarbon leaders sometimes I cannot use mono unless I wanna be frustrated in my casting and miss bites all day long. I HATE MONO! Oh I like nanofil too
  19. Lol, this makes the case for barbless hooks
  20. Simon, I like your method better. I had the exact same hook n hand about 5 years ago and pushed it through. The web of the thumb is not the place to do that imo. It's like a nerve hold from Andre the giant lol Hopefully your hand is ok in a few days
  21. Taken out like a man! Fish on the next cast! Epic!
  22. And she woulda got away with it if it wasn't for those medelling kids! Glad it worked out in your favour!
