A discussion on our rights(fishing/hunting related)

bill, i always value your input, your a great member here:) -
As anglers, fisherman, mothers, fathers, uncles ect. We have a very strong moral stand on fishing and hunting regulations. This is demonstrated by the vast majority of this board. Now, my question to the board members here. What would you do, if these regulations came in the way of feeding yourself or your family? I'm talking dire need. What would be your take or your stance?

Anglers fined fishing out of season !!!
manitoubass2 replied to fishindevil's topic in General Discussion
lol, part of me agrees with this. Rarely anyone eats them, it's all sport fishing. On the other hand every species IMO should have the right to spawn uninterrupted. -
Wow crazy game haha. I love it

Another tactic around here is plain clothed officers fishing. When boats crowd it's an easy way to see who does what. -

Its easy. Stay a distance and watch with binoculars. They (MNR) do it up here all the time. Catch an OOS fish change techniques or move. Its easy to see the intent if you watch -
ouch! And i thought the 9 strokes on the 18th hurt lol

that was hilarious;) it actually felt like a 30 yard drive compared to the two guys i played against. Must be nice to be able to drive greens lol. Longest drive of the day we measured was Andrew at 368 yards. They shot par and +1. I shot 101 lol

A couple years back, two American fellas were pre fishing for a bass tourney on rainy river. I was fishing the rapids on the canadian side, so i witnessed some first hand madness. Water was average but the rapids are very dangerous. I watched them attempt to anchor. I was yelling at them no no NO!!!!! That bass boat last all of maybe 30 seconds. Anchor caught, boat flipped and down she went. Another boat came to the rescue quickly, and pulled both boaters in within 2 minutes. They were so lucky. This area has claimed the lives of many. I'm guessing they were out 80 grand plus. Brutal

yeah we got tons up here lew. Nowhere near as many as when I worked in ear falls though, bear population there is insane! And thanks for the amazing compliment!!!!

lol i agree. We use to have guns in Alberta up north to protect ourselves from bears, but laws changed and boy is it creepy to be alone in the mountains without a gun. Look up my old report about getting charged by a bear. It was so much more scary cause i had 5 if my kids with me. I had to set them off on a bush trail around the rapids and yell at them to tell mom to call 911. It was gnarly. My heart rate was off the charts for hours. All i had to defend myself was a fillet knife, so, certain death if that bear decided that was my fate. On a side note, a bear here a few days ago was hit by a train. Left split nearly in two on the tracks. I called MNR and they would do nothing. I called CN police and they showed up, threw the bear 10 feet off the tracks and left. So disappointing. So me along with 4 others dug a grave, away from homes, laid some tobacco and burried it. Boy did it smell as i lifted it onto the gator, wow. Small bear though maybe 130lbs. Burying it was nice though. Nice to show and feel that respect for one another. Poor bear

i got charged by a momma a few years back. It took her only a few strides to cover roughly a hundred yards. It was so fast i never even moved. Amazing how quick they are. I'm lucky she just warned me with some rather powerful ground strikes. It was very humbling and I'm surprised i didnt have a heart attack

Thanks lew! Like you i took numerous pics but had to fiddle with them. @bushart lol, i hear ya but my partner was my 11 year old son, which means the bear charges in getting killed lol. @ kf, hahaha thats hilarious:)

Yep thats a purdy big bear! We ran into one in the golf course yesterday. Hit my drive about 30 yards from her, yikes! She had 4 cubs up in the trees watchin us too. Snapped a few pics from a decent distance. Getting charged once is enough for a lifetime lol

I got a batch going a day after watching that video lol, thanks neighbours and work for providing te dandelions lol. Also got enough for a few good salads and tried to bake some last night with olive oil and sea salt, delicious lil snack!

I never covered with soil or Pete moss, although that would be ideal. Just lots of seeding and water. Two years later out lawn is awesome:) nice big acre our back and it looks great. Birds around here are fed well and leave the seed alone. I used this method on our brand new powwow grounds to and it looks amazing. But i have to put up a deer fence or they will demolish the seed in no time

very true!!! Frig walleye here just started to spawn lol
-
I fought this battle and lost in the short term, won in the long term. After trying basically everything i could find, i decided to try te long term approach. Seed seed and more seed. Especially in the fall. Thick healthy grass chokes out weeds. I have no more crab grass or dandelions

Irishfiels is right lol. Some times the "hotspot" is where they caught two fish and exaggerated haha. This time of year for me its using nice big twitch baits/jerk baits and finding the right cadence. Shallow to relatively deep drop offs or rock piles, and spawning areas for suckers(not sure if that applies to your area though). Go get em dood:)

Wow, a true testament to different water bodies needing different tactics or confidence or.... Here i fish crappie on 6lb yellow PP and hammer em pretty good. Some days i use a leader of 4-6 lb fluoro but no difference aside from getting out snags. And i use this line for walleye too. Doesn't hurt abit IMO. The only reason i use a leader most times, is because I'm so amped the night before that i wanna do "more" to rig my rods lol. Just too antsy.
