The only porcupine I have ever encountered are dead on the road, so maybe drive around your yard a bunch and try to hit it?? if your aboriginal or have any aboriginal friends im sure they'd take it. Good quills are worth a small fortune and there used in jewlelry and head dresses

Navionics--what is the 'real' accuracy?
manitoubass2 replied to SirCranksalot's topic in General Discussion
Lol. Where I fish on rainy river the chart stops EXACTLY where I like to fish. Oh well Ive figured it out but a proper chart coulda saved me some time lol. It is what it is. This is a good reminder to be careful using navionics on lakes filled with reefs, just in case. -
Fish oil would help as well. Everyone should be taking it anyhow

Our kids still play outside all the time, but we dont live in a city or suburban area. Most their time is spent on road hockey(I still like to join in lol). Our oldest daughter loves photography and spends alot of time in the bush taking pictures. Winter is tougher then summer, in the summer I couldn't pay them money to come inside haha. One thing they do know however is that if your inside your doing chores or helping cook/bake. They do have tablets and one of those xboxs but its all put away in our room. They get a couple hours a week on them and thats about it. I see way too many kids these days that are raised by a video game or tv, and thats just sad. ps. If we had an outdoor rink in our yard I would have a hardtime going to work ???. as a kid my grandpa used to flood this bush area and all us kids could be found there basically all day when we weren't at school. Nothing teaches you to keep your head up like possibly hitting a tree hahaha -
Had a good read this morning about top water muskie fishing

I fish toowaters for bass and pike all the time. Its very fun! Weird that you experienced musky guys say muskies often miss the lures??? Pike go nutso if they miss it they often hit it two or three times, so hookups happen almost everytime. Even if they miss cast back out and theyll hit it again lol I guess pike are just smaller musky with the brain of a bass? -
Oh man I do not miss the days of using my manual auger lol. Replacement blades are available almost any outdoors shop, just make sure you get the right ones. Keep em sharp man, or thats tough work drillin manually. Not sure where I heard it but after each outing I used to give my blades a quick shot of wd40 and they stayed really good for a few years. I also babied it so maybe that was it???

In my experience(bass) color is indeed important but only so much at certain depths. They seems to crush anything very shallow, or deep. In 6-12fow(roughly) color patterns imerge. The way you musky anglers talk id expect them to smash a piece of driftwood from 40fow ??? (not directed at you brian) -
Karlson is one heck of a player. Not often you see a dman with that stride and ability to dictate plays on offense. Hes streaky too though, but id love em on my team. Hes not on my team lol and that sucks. But man o man he reminds me of paul and bobby. That kid has serious upside. Shame he plays on ottawa. Imagine him on detroit????

Yeah it is cool to see as they get almost a tiger like appearance. Their marking become much more visible. that being said, does anything prove this is a stress marker? Is there any biology behind this? I mean thats proven and not just pseudoscience? Pike or even moreso perch keep their colours much more then walleye. sauger look awesome after they are caught. Beautiful little fish
-
Ive had walleye on a stringer for a whole day, much like mike, shore fishing the river and travelling. Almost always the fish are alive when I return home sometimes 13-14 hours later. Like mike I use a long stringer. Thats pretty tough when ya think about it When I keep pike they die quickly. If I plan on keeping pike its a selective trip and I get them home quickly. That aside, I personally would never release a fish off my stringer, just a moral thing really, I dont care what the law states. Im positive releasing stringered fish is putting that fish at risk. Just because its alive, or even swims off seemingly fine, does not mean that fish will survive the damage the angler caused. Also, quick question for mike(since we do a similar thing). Ever notice the quick colour change? When the fish is caught it has its "normal colour". After put on the stringer I notice they get a similar pattern to sauger. Much more visible markings. Once dead the marking are gone all together and the walleye appears "silvery"(think lake winnipeg walleye). Just curious if this is dependant on waterbody, area, or if its stress markers???

So they wear even prettier panties then phaneuf??? Hahaahha whatever. They make millions to play in a physical league were getting punched comes with the job. I do not pitty any of them
