Yeah I didnt bring any grubs or other plastic just crawfish. Im gonna go try again today, since its +26 ill probably stay longer. The water is very muddy at least right now. Its like 3" visibility lol. I might walk further too and look for some structure Seen alot of baitfish getting chased too. I wonder what they are? Maybe just sucker fry??? Looks like good sucker spawning enviroment but I have zero clue what else is in there Ill sure have fun finding out though?

Well, we moved into a new home december. Big bonus is that rainy river is still a hop skip and a jump from our front door step. But...we have a small river about 300 yards from our backyard? Im not sure what took me so long but +23 temps and no wind made me venture out today. Now, previously ive asked the locals and all said no fish, dont bother. So I go down this even to wash some lures, no expectations. Navionics days 7 fow. A jig says 13 I get down there, sèe about 20 turtles sunning on the mud bank, quickly scurry into the water on my arrival. I set up and fish are jumping everywhere! Now im excited! Beautiful weather, virgin river, fish jumping and nature. It doesnt get any better then this... Until... I start casting. Follow ups on almost every cast. Mainly small pike, and a few bass. I wash top waters, spinner baits, some crawfish, and some twitch baits. All get follows Not ONE single hookup! In two hours i probably seen 30 fish, and couldnt catch one!!!! All i could do was laugh and enjoy the scenery I will post a few pics but photobucket is being a pain in the...

I spent 2 hours carving and sanding a trident shaped stick today for weiner roasting at the fire pit. Yes I was bored lol

If you drive through fort frances let me know Lotsa good fishing to be had up the road. Im in pinewood ontario. It is about a 50 minute detour though, But you can gain that time back if you go states side on route to winnipeg

Sorry cliff for misreading that. Still 60 a year is a decent wage, never mind figuring in food, shelter etc. I hope it works out and youse all find a way, but i wouldnt reject help. Your situation is insane, you shouldnt have a worry in the world but your family

Big cliff, I was not aware of your personal situation. Im not sure maybe you mentioned it on here and I just missed it??? Thats completely insane what is happening to you and your family, im soooo very sorry. And like a good man, i know youde do whatever it takes(as would most of us) for your family. This is a little off topic but ive seen some people posting on a website to get donations for certain causes. I wish I remembered the name??? Try to find it so us OFCers can donate and share the heck out of it. I know charity is not the preferred choice for most strong family men, but geez at this point it cant hurt. How in this country is medicine so expensive???? 60,000/month and not covered???? Human lives exceed dollar amounts. Somewhere we have this assbackwards
