Well you need to be around trees and stumps for them to show up lol. Also have to have your unit fine tuned just like anything else. To each their own but I find it incredibly useful

Ive caught bajillions of them Its a sauger, young one by the looks of it. The patterns are more defined in the 14" monsters lol. They dont get very big. I think the biggest ive caught wasnt quite 17" No different tasting than walleye though Just remember sauger and saugeye go against your walleye limit?

I hear ya! -40 even you can put your hands on them and feel the heat generated. Im not sure how diet effects this but our dogs eat probably pretty similar to those who have them further up north. Lotsa dear/moose meat/carcass, fish, etc.
