=( wish people would respect EVERYTHING. ruining a back island campsite.. killing ancient trees... its hard to get a tranquil place in the outdoors by the lake when you live in toronto... i guess thats considered a real luxury.. read my rant about bewdley docks... people can get on peoples nerves sometimes

So I decide to trek up to Bewdley dock's last night for some night fishing, some of u may know the place, it has a big floating dock and a concrete dock that holds fish. This time of the year it seems lots of people want to come to get a bucket of fish for food, so we head out... First off, theres like 6 cars parked on the concrete dock itself, which has a huge NO PARKING printed on the thing. okay, lets see how the action is... but my, I have no place to cast theres just so many people... so we tie on and find a space on the side and we're fishng... about an hour later someone got a huge 5-6 pound walleye, has to be in the 25 inch range, and puts it in his bucket. then, someone from the other dock starts yelling and screaming fits "im going to rip your face off, come here you, me and you etc etc etc" ... then half an hour later we turn around, and some chinese guy has his pants down, sporting just his briefs at like 1 am on the fishing dock and we're like .... WHY? ARE YOU IN YOUR UNDERWEAR RIGHT NOW? his buddies convince him to put his pants back on and he starts ripping out all the nice green weeds under the dock with a long net.... apparently, he dropped his glasses in the water PLEASE, SOMEONE PLEASE take me fishing somewhere nobody else is around

i watch these over and over again they never get old

we got em in the middle of the night close from shore and took pics in the afternoon on the boat (yeah I know)

Shore fishing from bewdley was on absolute fire two nights ago. I've never seen so many fish come up from shore before, in such heavily fished areas. Lots of walleye and catfish- incuding two which looked to be in the 3-4 pound range. I nailed a walleye at scugog night fishing last week as well as this week, but i only have a pic of one of them. We took a boat out from Bewdley and well, there doesnt seem to be much bass and we didnt get any luck with the walleye. I want to explore more of Gore's and the otanabee come next spring! Here's some pics from the last two outings I lost my freakin crankbait i've ben getting them on at night... and its a no-name from China that is not sold here noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo now I gotta buy a real one and cross my fingers fishing with it I guess crappie still exists after being so heavily sought after by us shore fishermen. note that live minnows no longer work for them at shore at night by the people i see fishig all the time. it's almost like evolutionary- those that bite a minnow on a hook are all fished out haha. i got one on a 3/8 jig and 3 inch curly tail (what? i know) and my buddy got these on 2 inch gulps. on avg 8-10 people fish every night at the shore spots i go. i want to find some more tranquil ones enjoy

two guys came back from fishing in the kawarthas... the first guy was preparing his catch, while the second was cleaning his stuff. the second guy yells across the field to the first "what are you making?" the first guy answers "well, I am making a crappie soup" the second guy, enraged, yells back and says "stop everything you are doing! don't make a crappie soup- I make the bass soup ever"

Thanksgiving Weekend my son made a Music Video

what a cool video, makes for a great artefact of Canadian culture, if that makes any sense at all -
Nice, thanks for the tips. I can't seem to sort out the types of minnows that are sold- maybe gotta ask the tackle shop owner. I was fishing perch off the dock at Bewdley and, it appeared, the Perch were attacking the minnow to keep them off their beds- and not one perch ate the minnow to my ultimate surprise. Once the minnow was dead or no longer swimming around, the perch left it alone altogether. On top of this, the local shop I got large minnows from last time give me an assortment of species . For pike, I would love to have them hammer spinners/spinnerbaits/jigs, but I havent had tremendous success with them. Correct me if I am wrong- but Pike seem to be still-fishers themself, and it might be more worthwhile to work the weedbeds and bring it to the fish instead of waiting to let the pike come and get it. I'm sure if you piss off a pike by dragging something across its face a few times it'll bite. My best guess is suspending a large sucker on a slip float just off the bottom for the best rig. Check out the other thread about rigging the minnow by going through the bottom lip, out the gill shaft, and back through the minnow's back to ensure no bait stealage and u can use a bigger hook. What do you guys think?

Theres a new haven for bass where the boat just landed. Glad they didn't get hurt. Would their insurance cover them for the loss?

Which fish is most likely to return to where it just got caught?
Kwan replied to Kwan's topic in General Discussion
That is such interesting stuff. I never thought ... 5 miles or even a quarter mile- I never thought they'd do that. Great job with the study to prove it! I thought it might be a pike. -
Hahaha now I know- To land a big fishwith light line, keep the motor on and drive in circles.

Why did you join the OFN? Why do you stick around?

heaps and heaps of info + guidance on this board I lurked for a long long time, then got snagged in by steverowbotham's post about $100 off a bass charter that went with his string of monster smallmouth reports and tournament wins. -
I think the guy who said/thought that the fisherman shoulda reeled it in and turned on the motor and dive out of the way was blowing his steam off for what happened to his side of the incident. Which is I didn't know they could get charged with impeding with right to fish. I woulda thought harassment, but I rather just leave those guys alone or talk to them when they're calmer or something. If he read some of the posts from this thread he'd apologize. Hopefully

Neighbor kid just shot a bb through my living room window!

The kids need a good role model to look up to. The right person to give them the right advice and speak right into their heart. Setting them up with an uncle is a possibility if the uncle has those kinds of attributes. For me personally, it definately wasn't, because it alienated the relationship I had with my dad further- mind you, my conflict was a family one. Smalliefisher is dead on, though more often than not, the parent takes a secondary role or maybe is the last person a kid wants to role model from once they get to an age where friends and school what what-not dominate their lives. A thug-inspired 14 year old can really change a 12 year old's life in a major, major negative way. It is difficult to know where the kid is getting his stuff from, but somebody with a large age gap (like 10 years, or a parent), its increasingly important to know what the kid is up to day in and day out, who is influencing them, and then it might be a little possible to change their heart. It's even better if they can see God in their life... God is with each one of those struggling kids- as soon as they recognize that, its almost guaranteed to lead to a change for the better. -
i used to dream of doing something like that when i drove past rivers to work
-
sorry i meant blind minnow haha! no i'm not using my perch for bait LOL
-
I bet the blind perch does work better LOL. That is so mean to the baitfish, though.
-
Thanks for the report. Hope you get those 5s and 6s when it counts for you! Kwan
