i use exactly the same line and had exactly the same problem. 10lb powerpro is like sewing thread.but stronger the only way i could make it work on my baitcaster is to almost max the tension to prevent kickback. after a few times using it, the line tightened up on the spool and now it seems to work fine with less tension.

going up to do some bass fishing this friday with my brother. anyone been up there lately. if so what are you using. plastics or surface chuggers.

my deepest sympathy to you Ron. i too lost the man responsible for my own sobriety. 6 months in, i was, and he had 15 yrs. Went on a binge and died in a car accident. im still here and living life in under his watchful eye. we never know why or when, all we can be is grateful for the opportunity to have walked with him for a while.

i was up to see Ed at paddletales in winchester yesterday. i always enjoy listening to him go on about something he truly loves. G Loomis unveiled thier new NRX rods in his store, and i got a chance to hold one.(cause i cant afford one). im no seasoned veteran but i could feel the quality radiateing through my wrist and up my arm. it was as if i was holding a pencil in my hand. i had to look to see if i hadnt dropped it and was holding nothing there. He went on about nano fibres developed by loomis specifically for fabricating rods. sheesh !!! i really feel like a newbie, but oh man im willin to learn real fast. ya have to see it and hold it to believe it.

i hear ya roy, up until a couple of days ago, i was getting arches in 8-10 feet of water. they were not complete arches, but were definately fish, cause i caught some. i slowed down chart speed to match the drift speed.

yup im sure. in the page 2 menu, there is a section for alarm sounds. it is enabled for fish alarm and disabled for depth alarm and tpad beeps. tpad beeps are the default so once i restted the unit i should have had beeps when the tpad was depressed. i had nothing even though in the menu it was activated.

IM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY LOWRANCE X135. FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT, I HAVE NO MORE ALARM SOUNDS. NO BEEPS WHEN BUTTONS ARE PRESSED...NOTHING. IT READS BOTTOM AND STRUCTURE, BUT NO FISH ARCHES. WHEN I PUT IN FISH I.D. MODE I SEE 'FISH' SYMBOLS, BUT WHEN I SWITCH BACK TO REGULAR MODE, NO ARCHES. I RESET AS PER MANUAL SAYS, AND STILL NO ALARM OR ARCHES.I EMAILED LOWRANCE BUT SO FAR NO REPLY. ANY IDEA WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT THIS ?

grappling type anchors are nice cause they fold up nice and compact, but they can get snagged up on roots or drowned trees so badly you may have to cut the rope. happened to me a few weeks ago. i like the milk container or rubber boot idea.
