  1. I realized that now, but it was over by $2000, not $18000, that is what I can't accepted the way how they do the math.
  2. So the tax free saving account sounds good, no need to lock in the money and don't pay tax on interest. So I opened one account in January 2010, and put $5000 in the account, then something came up and I need the cash, took $3000 out in April, used $1000, then I open another account and put $2000 back. So my total deposit for the year was still $5000, which is the maximum deposit for the year. (that was what I thought) This year, I got a statement saying I had over contributed to my account by $2000 because I cannot take money out and put them back to a different tax free account, this will resulted in over contribution. Here is the kicker, I deposited the $2000 in Late April, they calculated the over contribution by months which is from April to Dec, 9 months X $2000 = $18000. They use this amount to calculate my penalty. This is outrageous, I don't even have that kind of money in all my account combine together. Only our government can comes up ridiculers formula like this to screw people up.
  3. when did you apply? if you just did, then they should call you within 2 weeks, if you applied long time ago and have not hear from them, should give them a call or re-apply.

  7. When I lost my job just before Easter in April, most of my summer plan was cancel, my only concern was to find a job ASAP as I am the only person brings money for the family. A few weeks went by with no luck, I was getting worry, so I contacted one of the board member here. He is into bath tub refinishing, he was kind enough to help me out, take me along so I can learn some new skill; helping him out and made some cash. Although it was only last a few weeks, it was a great experience. Thank you Mike. At the end of May, I start working at Tight Line full time, I found that it feels at home again because it was like working in my old store. It was a very good two months there as I was getting 40 - 45 hours a week, the cash help me pay my bills on time, and have some extra cash save up to send my son for his graduation trip to Ottawa, he was sad for a while because he really wants to go but he understand the situation. On the day before the trip, my wife call the school if there was any way to get our son onto the list, within min, the pinciple call back and told us Kevin can go, we were so happy. Then the pinciple call Kevin in the office and deliever the good news to him, he was so happy as we can see he came back home with a big smile. I got into SAIL in Aug, I was hired as fishing team lead, not what I expected but I guess I will have to start over somewhere. We have been receiving tons of products everyday, the grand opening sales will be a blast. Hope to see you there.

  14. baitcast is for heavier set up, here are what I use: Spinning: 4 - 10 lb mono, or 10 - 20 lb braided line, lure anything under 3/4 oz. Baitcast: 12 - 17 lb mono, or 40 - 50 lb braided line, lure anything over 1/4 oz.
  15. Sunday hours are 8 AM - 4 PM
  16. Tightline in Pickering also has pre-tied 80# and #130 fluoro leader.
  17. You can start with the lake map, look for drop offs, points or weed lines, you can also ask questions from where you rent the boat, they will show you some area to start.
  18. I think you can save a few sbuck on big ticket items like rod and reel, for lures and tackles, unless you are buying a lot for the same seller at 1 transation, otherwise a few lures from one seller and a few from other seller, you won't save much because of the shipping, I think it is better to just walk in a tackle store and buy from there, just my 2 cents.
  19. Good luck to all the teams who will be in the Derby on Saturday!
  20. Hi Bill, did you try to cast the same light weight lure with your older baitcasting reel? you mentioned the problem is when casting a Mepps bait, what kind of bait is it? I have been using baitcasting reel for many years and I tell you In still cannot cast a #3 Mepps spinner with my baitcast reel.
  21. With the average shelf life of the reel is 3 years, parts are available for 5 years after the reels discontinued, that means the parts is actually available for 8 years, and no matter you buy a $50 reel or $800 reel, they all only come with 1 year warranty, so they didn't make customer think the expensive reel will last any longer. The average life of the reel is 5 years, if someone only fish 5-6 times a year and he owns a Stradic, the reel will properly last 30 years, on the other hand, someone fish 200 days a year, the same Stradic may only last 3 years, think about this way, if I spent $200 on a Stradic and I fish 30 days a year, after 5 years is 150 days of fishing, it equal to $1.33 per fishing day which cost less than a doz of worm. Now look at the production side, When manufacture create the tooling to make a reel, they make a percentage of extra parts for repair service, once these parts run out, you are out of luck. The tooling do not last forever, after the production is finish, the tooling may be worn and will not cut the part properly, to make new tooling will cost hundreds of thousand dollars, not economically just to try to keep a $3.00 parts in-stock. The money will be use to make new tooling for new reel, which will fill the demands of consumer who always wants to have the newest, most advance design and cutting edge products. There is no money to only manufacture parts for repair for non-current product, not in the reel business or any other business, manufacture or any aftermarket company. Here is how most reel repair shop work, someone bring in a old reel for repair, parts no longer available, the customer feels there is no need to keep the reel, they left it at the repair shop, now, suddenly, some of the parts from this reel become available to the next customer who happens looking for the parts, you never know, may be 2 months down the road and you go back to Shimano, they may have the parts just because someone drop off some old reels there. Shimano service is very good, as long as they have the parts; they will fix the reel for you no matter how old the reel is, with a small charge which is understandable. There are lots of other reel companys out there selling high end reel with no parts available at all, they only give replacement reel within the 1 year warranty, you get a NEW REEL if it broke within the first year, after 1 year, no more service.
  22. finally, I am going fishing for the first time this Summer.

  23. Put 50 lb power pro first, about 300 yds, then either use Lead core line, copper line or multi strand wire for your dispy set up.
  24. if you are willing to spent that kind of money, then you should look at the Daiwa or Shimano reel.
  25. Not going to make any different, all broken St. Corix rods require warranty need to send to Prrk Fall, USA.
