Hi Walleyejack, I have a used President 4735, asking $40, if you are interested, I also have a new 7' ML shimano rod if you are still looking for a rod.

There is lots out there to choose, I like 7' ML, use it for light jigging, live bait and lindy rigging.

I see you try a few shops and they can't fix your reel, if you still want to fix it, PM me, I can't garantee I can fix your reel and may waste another drive, I just want to see if I can help, it doesn't hurt since I am in Pickering.

Check the two drag spring washer, when look at the washer from the side, you will notice the washer is not flat, it is curved like this "(" when putting the two washers together, it should look like this: ")(", If you stack it like "((" or "))" , it will not give enough tension to have a proper drag. hope this will help.

I am not going to suggest what is is better, but it you like Vanish leader, then buy the Vanish filler spool will definitely save you some buck. Seaguar line will be a bit tricky, they make a few different fluoro formula, you need to find out which leader you like then buy the same formula in the big spool. Some company only want to appreal to steelhead market only and they sell big spool, like Drennan, Raven, Red wind, Frog hair are all good leader material, they can sell the same line in a big spool and you all can save more money, but why would they? they are making good buck. If you are looking for 6 lb test leader, there are lots available in a filler spool in the market, berkley 100% fluorocarbon, P line fluorocarbon (not fluoroclear), BPS XPS fluorocarbon are all available in filler spool size.

it is mostly marketing, fluorocarbon leader spool and big spool, it is the same line as long as it is 100% fluorocarbon. There are other lines on the market like the P line fluoroclear is not 100% fluorocarbon, it is mono coated with fluorocarbon. it is a different line, but when you compare Vanish to Vanish, or Seaguar to Seaguar, same line, different packaging.

I have talk to Clam so many times about the service issue. I do understand their problem dealing with Canadian customer, at the end it is going to hurt their sales. Frabill have been very good for the past two year, good quality product and have not hear any complaint from customer.

Every dollor purchased = 1 point. Every dollor purchased on BPS brand = $2. 500 points = $10. Even it took them long time to get the point system set up, it is still better late then never. They still need to work on some bugs this is why they are not pushing it to much.

If you can't affort salman gear, then use whatever you have at home. You ask question what gear to use, then people will tell you to use this or that, then you have to spent $$. If you are consider to get proper gears, you are looking at some where between $100 to infinitly. As for bait, you can use fly, spawn, yarn...... there are all kinds of bait to use, but then you need the proper gear to fish for..... Let's say you have a 6' - 7' spinning rod and a mid size spinning reel , then you need to use around 10 to 12 lb test line, size 6 - 10 octopus hook or egg hook, bottom rig or float rig and do some drifting and see what happen, there is alway a chance you can hook one. light line do work better but then you need to use loner rod.

I am petty sure there is none out there. I just need to double check. There was one time a lady call and looking for the 4 hp 4 stroke power auger, I told her as far as I know, there is none on the maket. she won't believe me. She said she saw it on TV. She call one of the local Canadian tire and they told her they have it in stock. When I ask her how much was the price, she said $550. I keep telling her for that price, it could be a 3 HP only. There was one unhappy customer because she think I know nothing about ice auger. Wait until she try to pick one up from Canadian tire.....

Is there any company make a 4 stroke 4 hp power auger?
