NICE Great start to the season. I'll have to catch a 13" NGL this weekend to keep you guys back! haha -
Nothing "caught", I could only "capture" photos. Haha. That is a tough time of year to catch on the Ottawa, at least in my area.

Stacked, hungry and legal bass in the early spring? Simon, you successfully jealousized a lot of people here.
-
That sucks Brad My old man is making a trip a northern lake in AP. You'd swear this lake is void of life in the summer, but spring is a different story.

Pan fried with plenty of cajun or lemon pepper spice have fun out there.

Those are some big, lonely rivers Gotta adapt according to weather, eh? Some of those shots are wallpaper quality, but I still like the boy with the stringer shot the most haha.

Ready to go Kayak Fishing.. Any hotspot in Belwood lake?
Rod Caster replied to juan96's topic in General Discussion
That's pretty much all I can target up north as well... dont' get me wrong, I love fishing for trout or all kinds, but this is typically my least active time of the year for fishing. Can't wait for walleye/pike...but of course I will wait -
I can see where dust-buster got their design template from. Did the bio say anything about these fish being rare?

Sportspal North Bay-Excellent Service and Workmanship

When I broke the "backrest" on my foam seats, I used the bottom portion along with a padded boat seat. It was extremely comfortable, but it was cumbersome to carry on trips. It looks very easy to be honest. BW sold me the seats for around $30, which is a steal. Installing them requires a small drop bracket (supplied) and a couple screws on the gunwhales. If you have even a basic garage or shed i'm sure you could do it in an hour or so I've only dealt with the warehouse side once, they are currently ordering me a new propeller for my 28lbs thrust Motorguide. $15 compared to $30 online -

Oh ya, I was told to look for this post. Thanks. Good stuff!! I'm ok with sliming up your boat you can also order some repair kits from them, like sponsons, seats etc... many of the parts are quite easy to repair on the canoe. Of course these guys have years of experience and the shop/tools to do it 10 times quicker. Check out bwmarineproducts.com -
I bought my 14 foot sportspal last year just prior to an LSPP trip and I was extremely happy with the purchase. $400 including a 28lbs trolling motor and many accessories. Coming from a 12 foot beater I was content just to have a canoe with legroom and keels. The nagging issues didn't bother me until later in the season... recurring leaks, crappy foam seats and no yoke. This year, with a reminder from Nipfisher that "the sportspal factory is in North Bay, you know", I decided that I'd upgrade a few things. I brought it in to Steve at BW Marine Products for a quote on parts and labour. Steve was extremely friendly, knowledgable and more than willing to take my business. Him and his crew would install permanent seats, a yoke, new foam sponsons, nose cones and a new gunnel. They would also fix a few large leaks. A week later, I get a call that my canoe is ready. Sweet! Drive to the bay door, they open up and I look inside for my canoe All I see are new Canoes.... He nods and says "that one is yours". Get this: They painted the inside and out, entirely re-sealed the unit, re-formed it and even installed a few new ribs. I kid you not, other than the inside foam, my canoe is BRAND NEW!!! All this for $350!! They charged me for less than 2 hours of shop time. Needless to say, I'd recomment BWmarineproducts.com to anybody! Here are some photos of the canoe as I bought it: note the old seats, paint job and generally "used" look. Here she is now:

I was mostly teasing Nipfisher, but ya, it sure looks like Nip has been on a steady decline for recreational anglers (maye others too), who are apparently the least important people when it comes to nipissing fishing, as the courts see it. I've done relatively well in the past three years, but I do not have the overal experience on nipissing to actually see a trend... Other than winter, I do most of my walleye fishing on back lakes surrounding nbay... Much less pressure and nicer scenery.

That would be interesting. That lake is closed to the public jan 1st to mid may. I didn't even know there was a local band of natives out there, or that it was treaty land. You sure your sources are reliable?

based on your experiences?

Suprising considering your country is the foundation for a litigious society. I guess Celino and Barnes haven't made a commercial targeting blood-traumatized children yet.
-
Love Marten river but the fishing can be very tough... The back lakes are best but not great for access or launching. Wicksteed lake might be a good option. Big lake, lotsa walleye.

Unlimited data, they don't care. I'm figuring out how to stream music of choice on this thing too, now THERE is a data drain! Haha Its only the ofc mobile site that does this. If I type too fast or backspace too quick, it gets all jammed up and I miss out on words, letters etc. Funny enough, now that I've been going back and forth between IP Board, club and mobile today, the lag isn't as noticeable. This has been happening for two months, but now that I've brought it up Telus and started a post, of course the problem goes away. Weird.
-
Since I got my new BB bold, I've noticed a rather annoying lag when typing with OFC mobile. I just switched to club and IP board and all is fine. Anyone else noticing this?? I'd rather stay with ofc mobile since its generally more user friendly (minus the lag of course).

that's that. How's that tiger's blood tasting? haha
-
Haha that's what I told the security guy. I'd hate to see her scowl after that! haha agreed, but aircan has the most flights per day so i can get to where i'm going on time, versus the other options. haha, it took up to 4 minutes to print on the old school printer. zzzz. click click. zzzzz.click click. How is their service from North Bay to Thunder Bay???

What I am saying is that they would not necessarily catch the crackhead, drinker or pill popper, but they would be able to hold the pot smoker liable and instantly he would be considered "endangering the other workers" while the others just Sorry to hear about the Oxy thing.... Up north the pills are selling for hundred of dollars... bad stuff
-
So smoking dope on your personal time makes you less worthy of an operator job, or any other job for that manner?? What about the presciption pill popper that is considered legal, or the crack smoker who clears his blood after 3 days, or the high-functioning alcoholic who sobers up after 24 hrs. Oxy's are one of our biggest drug problems and the stupid things are legal. The only problem I have with drug testing is that it targets people who are not necessarily the problem... pot smokers only end up being the scape goats. "we got rid of our drug-adled employee who caused the accident". Other than the pot issue/drug testing, I have come to agree with the others on this topic who are siding with the employer.

Here is what Air Canada gives you as a receipt when you purchase "one extra baggage" for $22.50. They hand me this and I say "you've got to be kidding me" in a straight face she says " we have to", I say in response " I highly doubt it", she doesn't look pleased. This has to be 15 feet long
