For the $ look at a dobyns instead, the new g loomis rods have gone down hill. There CS and warranty suck ass too. Maybe get a daiwa fuego or phenix recon or m1.
Pro J's. lots of Dobyns rods. They carry the widest range of bass rods and tackle. Megabass, st.Croix, G. Loomis, Dobyns, Simax, shimano, daiwa, etc....

same goes for usdm stuff like shimano rods/reels, loomis rods, daiwa rods/reels, etc...
starting to miss the old chronarchs, glx, fuego, team daiwa gear, etc...
With the new megabass pricing they will be hard to beat, the baits dropped allot. Sail had 110 and the poppers at $20. That's only $3-4 more than lucky craft and jackall. With megabass pushing for NA sales, I see a cheaper megabass reel to match the current rods.
because i have my heart set on some megabass rods to go with some megabass reels. i haven't even fished with the 714!
the recon 2 is very nice for the $. for the $170-$190 good value.
much better than many other brand in the same price range. i put it ahead of the gl2, crucial, aetos, etc...
once you go jdm baits you can't go back. i have 2 3700 boxes full of them. the scary thing is, i probably have 10% of some members. you should checkout the new megabass orochi xx rods at Pro J. You'll find it tough to find a more balanced rod for the price.
nice selection...i got few dobyns rods and think they are very good, the champion lineup are my favorites.
not the lightest or the most sensitive but very well balanced.
there cranking rods are the best in the business!
Looking at a dedicated combo for crappie and panfish. What do you guys use? I am looking at ul/l 6'-7' rod paired with a 1000 series reel.
I will only use this combo a handful of times before bass season so not looking to spend too much $. The cap is around $200 for a combo.
