once got a turtle going for catfish.... barely got my lure away from a mink fishin for specks....... hmmmm, hooked a beaver but it got off while I was fishin for specks again. uhhhhhhhh....... yea, that's about it.

With my experience salmon are a VERY easy fish to catch. If you're new with it dont get all caught up in the complicated set-ups. Stick to spoons, rapala's and even inline spinners. For a spoon you wanna primarily go with a little cleo about 3/4oz. green/silver, blue/silver, whatever colour, they've all worked equally the same for me. Alot of my success comes from using the orange/white 3/4oz glow in the dark cleo just before last light. But this is also up in northern ontario. Oh there's also buzz bombs and im not sure if they're sold where you live or what lure selection they're classified under, but they work just as well as spoons.... if not better. I've never used a buzz bomb myself but i've seen first hand how deadly they can be. Good luck!! JP

it is not fair to make a comment like this either. there are plenty more people killed on the job everyday compared to police officers. they also work just as hard if not harder than police officers. I.e. physical labor jobs and lets get one thing straight with all of your "coward" comments. you aren't going to find one here.

It is not cowardly to criticize and it is wrong to assume that I or the majority of people are cowards that run "when the excrement hits the oscolating device"... enough said.

well.... im surprised this did so well without bein closed down for once. but other than that..... I have on average 3-4 sqaud cars pull past my place A DAY! they are constantly patrolling my area. I live in a mid-class neighbourhood here people. right next to one of the worst areas in town. guys, I live in a small town with more than enough cops to go around. I've been into the station a couple times and seen oodles of cops sitting around talking about non work related stuff. believe me, if called out a cop should be at my residence in a respectable time to deal with something like this! specially because of the fact he station isnt any longer than 10 mins away. specially with all the younger guys who dont want to work now a days you gotta do alot more things yourself. and it must be pretty bad seeing as how I am fairly young myself! so lets not get started on a hard days work. keep it friendly people. FishnNAutographs, Please. explain to me the legalities of a citizen's arrest.

Roy, Believe me I've sat down to chat with a few cops in my life time so far. I know what they go through. alexcba, yea "LOL" at this guy for sure! but he was out of his mind... it wasnt just mushrooms though wassomethin else WITH the shrooms for sure! but, he had threatended a few other peoples lives. so if I was a cop and someone called 3 times i'd be sure to go crack down on another kid who is on drugs and possibly dangerous. FishnNAutographs, let's not get into this ride along thing. infact lets keep the whole "ride with a cop" experience out of this please.

well I got two of them. 1) The other night I was at a friends house. we went for a walk to the store. when we left the house there was two ladies walking up to the neighbours house. one was a bigger lady cursing and yelling and the other was a bit smaller. she was saying something about her dog. well, we passed the corner and heard yelling and beer bottles (full ones) being thrown and smashed. it was the male neighbour throwing them. well she was screaming "lay a hand on me I dare you" (of course I took the swear words out to keep it clean). well she ended up punching him in the head 5 times and he throw her away. she got her dog back but called the cops. now the guy is hauled in on assault charges. but in my opinion she should be to. 2) About an hour ago we had a younger male on drugs walk up our drive way. I guess he was on magic mushrooms. He was looking for trouble of course with racist comments. (I have black relatives) he was told to leave the property and refused. he threatened to smash the van and what not. So of course me being on the young side myself got caught up in the action and took a run at him. he turned around and ran down the street. It was actually quite funny to hear him speak and his insults afterwords. but anyhow he took off to another house down the street and started trouble down there. no physical altercations tonight but it was damn close with a few people. he kicked their house and hit their van and eventually removed his jogging pants. the cops eventually came after 30 mins on the dot. called them 3 times!!! gave them crap for their slow response too. they ended up chassing this guy down the creek and caught him with out further issues. If you guys wanna rant then go for it! thats pretty well why I created this thread. I would like to hear peoples stories and opinions on this stuff. JP

I dont use marine grade.... I forget what it's called, fur or something like that. Its solid stuff. I had it on for 2 seasons now and havent had any issues. I just painted it up real good and put sylicone around where I drilled my holes and what not and she was ready to go! still gotta replace the on board wood though.

good deal man! sounds like a great trip. the lower water does suck though. but the lake I fish east of town was actually up compared to previous years. I was still on the concreate pad backing down at the launch the other weekend. usually i gotta go all the way down the launch to the sand to get the boat in.

the orange mechanic soap works wonders too! for me anyway...... I got lots of it layin around so I decided to use it the other day after cleaing my bass and pike.

beauty fish bud. I've been lookin to get out there for years. hopefully I can get that done soon!

you headin to the river too eh? i'll be out there myself! tomorrow im makin a little whitefish stop then after that the boat is goin into the water. thursday is gunna be spent on the river and friday and saturday will be on a nice little speck lake ...

right on burnfield lake eh? last time I was there a couple years ago I caught lots of nice pike and even a little walleye when the sun started to go down. if I knew back then what I know now I woulda had my walleye limit in no time..... which is only two on that lake.

thanks for the info! i'll remember that for next time! the fishing wasn't all that great cause of the rain and wind. but I managed a 21" pike and a little 8" walleye that I released. everytime I casted into the weedbed off the dock at least once a day I had a HUGE hit! the pike was massive! at least 45". I had it on, every time it peeled some drag and got off. although it did jump once and I managed to see it. we saw fish on the humminbird in the 10' and above column during the rain and most were marked below 30' yesterday. and that's about it besides hitting the stupid pile of rocks..... happy to report very minor damage.

I got ALOT of information so far about the area and am really excited for sure. but still cant find a speck lake to hit. we got boats canoes quads and a truck along with great tackle so that isnt a problem. I would really appreciate any help I could get before 10:30 tomorrow morning!!!! thanks again!
