Underwater Camera Lights: Do you feel they scare fish in the dark?
buick14 replied to buick14's topic in General Discussion
hmmm i see my light is so bright that underwater viewing (so far) in shield like lake is actually incredible (marcum has the lights on top and they really illuminate in super dark conditions!) So i thought walleye and etc would be scared of being in the "spotlight".....if I saw a UFo id keep my distance! -
Hello, I was wondering on what peoples thoughts are on if the lights on the underwater cameras scare your fish in the night? I personally feel when the underwater camera is stationary, it does not scare any fish so long as it isnt moving or you dont turn the lights on when the fish are present..But I am uncertain if fish in the dark are spooked to feed infront of the lights? Obviously, I have noticed that aquatic bugs and certain minnows etc are attracted to the light....(I am talking about light like on a marcum not the LED infrared on the old aqua vu which are invisible to naked eye) So i was wondering, with light sensitive fish like Walleye, in the dark, would they be spooked to come by the light of the camera to go after a bait? Im just wondering if the underwater night viewing is useless as it scares fish I am not interested in the legalitites in terms of fishing, Im interested in know flat out if anybody sees walleye and other fish with the cam, or if the avoid it like the plague. Thanks guys, and Im interested in your experiences with particular species ie pike not scared of light walleye spooked etc etc thanks

Ive never seen a sunrise before.....it looks so beautiful and full of opportunity!

Aside from the old ghetto spoon type augers, I think all have replaceable heads or blades... But some at a cost...

X1million on buying the ci4 mike! Ah long, jdm is the devil (because their gear 99% of the time is way better!)...and $$$! As for higher end "higher"quality gear being in a league of its own, and being built with higher tolerances etc, many ppl would be VERY surprised at how many parts are engineered with same material in same factory etc and are "generic" amongst mid-hi grade and premium reels stradic sustain stella curado chronarch calais etc......in some cases, it's humbling...(based on prior 2012 models that is)a stradic really isn't that much different then the stella at the end of the day. Trust me. That ballistic is worlds apart from the certate.

That looks like the whirlpool in niagara. That fish is Nasty and awesome at the same time ! -
lololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololo Sorry about that. As of 2 years ago, lololol no wayyyyy. Maybe things have changed with their new augers etc, but the blue body and red head were very tough (impossible locally). Anything can be sourced online, but obviously at a price.

Id definately go stradic fj for all around, Ci4 if using it for lighter dropshot worming and even light jerkbaits, ballistic no thanks. Love daiwa, not a fan of their lower-mid range anymore.

lol good auger is one of the most important components..... Dont waste your money on a quad, buy a 3 wheeler for next to nothing, and drive it only in a straight line or you will die. Love you bud.

Wow I didnt know it was a Nils available..... I have absolutely no experience with this new orange nils, (I have the blue shaft with the red blade), but if its the same auger, Id buy a few if I had a costco membership.....again not sure if its the same as the the blue one I have, but if it is?........WHAT A STEAL BUY MANY

Im a little sketched out with "aqua vu" seeing as it seems like ownership has bounced around a few times lately, so I dont know of the long term quality on these puppies
-
lol wrong price there I bet....
-
Im interested as well....

nils isnt supposed to need sharpening...its supposed to be selfsharpening lifetime...but incase you detune it on the ice........
-
Nils master is THE BEST HANDS DOWN manual ice auger you can get. The price will also reflect that. Its a self sharpening blade so long as you take care of it itll last forever. Pretty much no downward pressure needed: itll walk through the hole like a 4X4 in low climbing a small hill. Man I am telling you, they are hands down the best fastest easiest (and most expensive) manual. Worth the extra $$, but damn hard to find locally. If you slam it down and detune the blades, youre in trouble. I found a guy in the US off iceshanty who was actually able to sharpen and retune my cutting bit.....but apparently its rare to find someone who will guarantee their work. BUY A NILS MASTER
